Is everyone going to keep breaking the first rule?
Anyone know any good spots by Cherry Hill in South Jersey?
Plenty. Lonestar, Boston Market, Hooters on 38 right by the mall, among countless other things, all the abandoned historic homes on main st. in medford, drive down 70, 73, 130 and look out your window. there is literally something at every intersection. If not, just goto Philly. Just the crappy obvious ones. I find everything on first page google search results. It's really not hard...

Also I snipped all the photos because I'm nervous about getting in trouble for it. :v:
Lenox is pretty cool. You have a lot in your area. I think its Mill Rd that has at least a dozen foreclosures on it now. Pistol Pete's in pleasantville just closed someone needs to explore that place.
I pass this place several times a week so here's a warning: There is a TON of traffic RIGHT next to this place day and night. If you're going to go go at night and approach without light, because it is on a very large road and has a second road many people use when leaving the stores nearby. [editline]14th October 2012[/editline]
Anyone know any good spots by Cherry Hill in South Jersey?
There are TONS of abandoned buildings in Atlantic City... the problem is they often aren't... 'abandoned'. You'll find prostitutes, base heads, other people not of upstanding character in these buildings OFTEN. It's also difficult sometimes to get into these buildings purely because of location. A lot of these places are pretty deep in the 'hood'.
Is everyone going to keep breaking the first rule?
most people don't actually explore they scrounge the internet for other people that have put work into finding places

(the limo isn't there anymore btw) If there is a PoE in the back you'll be fine, I doubt there is one yet though. AC does have a lot of cool buildings, fire station, church, huge senior living center... wish I could've explored Sands Resort while it was abandoned, that would've been fucking incredible. Most of the vacant structures in AC just got approved for demo last week so if you wanted to check any out this would be the time to do it.

In Ventnor (like a 5 minute walk from AC) there are a few safer abandoned buildings there.
There are shitoads of abandoned farms and farmhouses where I live. I live on an out-of-the-way highway, so every 10 kilometers or so there's an old building. After reading this section, I think I really want to check some of them out... Only thing that sucks is that I don't have anybody to ask/talk to about these buildings. I'd rather not go to one of these to find some sort of crackhead circle jerk, because everyone here is into at least some form of drugs. Any reconnaissance tips? Also, what are people's opinions on salvaging or taking a momento? I don't mean "steal all valuables", I just mean taking something home to remember the adventure. I initially imagined it was commonplace but after reading through some threads it seems most people are against it ("leave no trace".)

Not really much to see, but anyone interested in some pics of some old 16 inch Artillery battery/logistics bunkers? Oh, I can also snap some photos of some decks where they shot out Nike Hercules missiles later on.
There are quite a few abandoned mental hospitals in my area, I'll have to check them out some time. This is one of them.
This was 'breaking and entering' / infiltration for the most part. This is only partially abandoned, several units are still active and had guests staying in them while we explored the adjacent units. The pool was running and everything.
That hospital is soo creepy looking! I would hate to go in there by myself, even in day because my mind would be playing tricks on me.
There's quite a few good spots in Ontario Canada, really surprised me
Fucking awesome, I live in Ontario. I'm gonna see if there's any cool places near my place.
I'm planning an excursion to a former girl's boarding school nearby my home, I've attempted it once before, but accessed it from the main road instead of through the woods and a farmer chased me off. There's lots of stuff to get into there, the church building, supposedly, is nearly immaculate on the inside. The water tower you can see in one of the map images was the sight of a suicide when I was a kid, while my uncle worked for the school's maintenance crew. Hopefully they've stopped having a guy pop by every now and then, it'd be really goddamn awkward to have to explain to my uncle (who is still part of the "security" for the site as far as I know) why I got arrested at the place or something. Dont feel like writing a paragraph. >friends go to 'abandoned' horse track (one of you.. Lost n Found? lives near me,I'm sure you know where i mean, near the hamilton mall) >city clearly uses it to park municipal vehicles >they go in anyway >get seperated >one kid yells down a flight of stairs because he hears somone "HELLLLOOOWOWOOOOOOOOWOOOO!!!!" >WHO THE FUCK IS THERE - Security guard >everyone now trying to find way out >meanwhile my other friend decided to steal a pile of security jackets (he backed it up as 'not stealing' because the place was 'abandoned' and the jackets 'looked' old) :downs: >kid who yelled hello gets caught by security guard, other 2 kids run and hide (not caught) >kid who yelled breaks bro-rule #2 and tells security guard everyones full name >guard calls cops, whom catch my other friends in the parking lot trying to get in his car >now all have to go to court (except for the 2 that ran, one that ran may actually, dont know yet) >one friend luckily knew the cop so they 'forgot' to write that they were attempting to steal jackets so they only get charged with trespass My friends are smart. They like to steal things. This is why I didn't like taking them to the abandoned factory.
Found some bitching Nesquik

I got muhself a job and my truck will soon be ready for woods adventures, will bring camera for pics of abandoned shit.

So I was at an abandoned mental facility in Topolšica, I'm going there with a friend again after new years I've been there a couple of times, it's great urbex and has a ton of medical documents that date all the way back to WWII prisoner diets, patient complaints, medical self help booklet for tifus (which is the only thing I kept, it's a hilarious read) and drug administration documents. It's also a spot for junkies (or at least used to be), so the entry area has a ton of grafitti and boxes of used needles. It's a really interesting place and if anyone wants, I'll take some photos next time I'm there.
Accidentally happened to upload terrible cellphone video of one of the outbuildings at the china factory -> http://s137.beta.photobucket.com/user/C0nK3r_r3d/media/VIDEO0022_zpsa2a06aec.mp4.html Attempted to shine flashlight in area camera was pointing. I kinda want to go back and check the outbuildings out again.
I'm not much of an explorer myself but I love the aesthetics of abandoned, urban decay. well I learned there was an abandoned warehouse complex near where I live so I went there with a crowbar one day but there was a 10-foot fence surrounding the complex so I hopped over it after some effort I was walking about and admiring the sights when I looked in one of the smaller warehouses and saw several tripwires I looked to where they led and it looked like they were hooked up to some bells on a wall it scared the shit out of me so I started walking away and I saw a homeless man sitting outside one of the warehouses but he didn't do anything then I went home [IMG_thumb]http://i.imgur.com/CQyHW.jpg[/IMG_thumb] p.s. that is an outdated photo, the black walls were replaced with aforementioned 10-foot metal chain-link fences
Anyone know how to get through this stuff? There is no chance of being seen, but being heard is certain because there are houses less than 50 meters away on the other side of the building. I found a 1300 degree Celsius butane lighter online, thinking of melting through it, but my friends said it wouldn't work. So that's why I asked here because me and my friends are new to this. Or if I am a complete idiot for even trying to break in, then please just say. I'd rather not go against the rules of urbex (if there are any).

I would try and screw/pry it off with a crowbar but really, I don't think yo will be able to get through without making noise

And I don't own a crowbar, and yeah, we would probably get heard with it :(
just unbolt it you dill don't damage property, you're a stain on the exploring community
just unbolt it you dill don't damage property, you're a stain on the exploring community
Ok, sorry. Besides, this will be the first time I've been and I haven't done it, so technically I'm not a stain on the exploring community.
