Alright since this already been bumped. Would anyone living in/near Stockholm be willing to go and check if there is any cool places? My friends are not in to this, so yeah.
I've been urbexing 2-3 times, though all in the same place. Abandoned factory building, got like three floors, balcony, couches, a whole garage filled with scrap. And did I mention the fully intact fire truck? I'm going back there when summer starts (saw a van there towards the end of last summer, haven't gone back) There's also a bigger outdoor building. Got a fairly tall silo and other rooms. No crackheads or druggies far as I can tell. I'll post pics when I get the chance. Oh god, Just remembered, NEVER open an old fridge! I was dry heaving for at least 10 minutes. I think something died in there.
Turns out they've destroyed the one main building in my area that I actually wanted to get into, me and some friends were gunna get in there once but we pussied out after seeing how dark it was and with our lack of torches and general equipment. That and the security guard roaming the area didn't exactly make us want to get trapped in there. Here's a quick screenshot from the place 4 years ago, it's a shame really, there's far little security there compared to when me and my mates went there. They ended up replacing that fence with a full 15 (ish) foot fence. And I don't own a crowbar, and yeah, we would probably get heard with it :(
If there's a second floor to that place, chances are that the upper windows won't be too bad, if you can get onto the roof safely, you'd be alright :P.
If there's a second floor to that place, chances are that the upper windows won't be too bad, if you can get onto the roof safely, you'd be alright :P.
It's a single floor building. The roof is fairly easy to get onto but the only way in from the roof is a drop through a window. And also, somewhere else I'm going to go, this old petrol station: Unfortunately the recently boarded it up and put a barbed wire fence around the perimeter, but driving past the other day, I noticed that the fence didn't go all the way round, so I hope that that is the case with the boards on the windows. It's in the middle of nowhere as well which is a bonus. The house behind it is also abandoned but was burnt down intentionally by some idiots.
They intentionally burned the house behind it down? What reason could there be for burning it down?

Safety first and all that. Why the petrol station though? It looks pretty bland.

And the annoying thing was I had a camera with me and didn't take any pictures. And I did think about the rope, but my friends would think I was crazy.
wish I could've explored Sands Resort while it was abandoned, that would've been fucking incredible.
HA sucka, my mom worked there for years and I snuck off for a little bit a few months before they demolished it and checked out random floors while at work with her, was P cool. I also watched the airshow from the roof, whatever year it was that it was last standing.
I occasionally go for walks around my college campus and try to get into places that look like fun. There's some really fucking cool graffiti if you know where to look.
And I did think about the rope, but my friends would think I was crazy.
Just try it, as long as you don't fall and crack your head, you'll be alright. After having a good look at it, there might be some cool old stuff in there.
Are you in England by any chance?
Unfortunately, no. Good ol' 'murica. Oh shit, top of page. Have a staircase.

Unfortunately, no. Good ol' 'murica.
Ah, I thought the tower blocks over there would look a lot different that's all.
Any urbexers in Denmark?
There's a 13 mile stretch of abandoned highway in Pennsylvania lined with old buildings, houses and such. Me and some buddies of mine are gonna take a few days to go on a back packing trip there. As far as I can tell, it's pretty frequently traveled. Here's a video of some people doing pretty much what we're about to do. Gonna be fun on the bun.

Wish there was stuff like that near me. :(
There is a Motorola factory in Swindon, it's apparently abandoned but I'm not sure. Anyone got any info?
Was at an abandoned tool manufacturing warehouse the other day, took a few photos, nothing too good though.. Had a pretty damn scary experience with the Police whilst in the building.. Also sorry for the big images
Where is this? All the UK posts make England look like a shithole In Birmingham there are so many places you could explore, my road alone has like 4 abandoned factories on it
I just found this place a couple of towns away from me. I might check it out with some friends. Picture of the inside (not mine): Looks pretty awesome! And also because it's part of an old train factory, there are about 5 other buildings within about a miles vicinity. An awesome day of urbex awaits.
Can't wait to see a report.
Can't wait to see a report.
Yeah, it's not gonna happen, too hot. :( But, we found a place in my town, we were going to check it out next week.
I just had a couple of questions: Two friends and I are going to be planning a documentary about people who do Urban Exploration in London (we're currently researching into people, places, the law etc.) and I just had a couple of questions: 1) Is anyone interested in being involved in a taster tape, we are getting one ready for friday, so we'll essentially just stage an interview with a few personal questions essentially saying "why do you do it" etc. as well as footage around urban exploration, even an interview on skype would be much appreciated. 2) What is the legality behind urban exploration, everywhere I look for advice it's all grey areas about it, nothing is very certain: I just know "Just take photos, only leave footprints" and that's about it. I just wanted to be sure because I was told that my pitch has to have some legality to it.
So I'm planning a week long trip to New Jersey to go Urbexing with my friend next year. He's already suggested a few spots, including some other 'paranormal' sites. Do any of you guys have any recommendations? We're already planning on hitting up Baptist Lake Campground, an abandoned hospital near his house, and we're going to the '7 Gates of Hell' in PA. Sadly, they've cut down the Devil's Tree, so that's off the list. But yeah, can anybody familiar with the area suggest some cool spots? We'll be able to go anywhere within the state and maybe a little bit out of state.

Have any of you encountered anything paranormal while urbexing?
Have any of you encountered anything paranormal while urbexing?
I hate your question.
I encountered a building that looked abandoned, all of the doors and windows were painted over with thick red paint. Anyone have any insight and willing to explain?
Have any of you encountered anything paranormal while urbexing?
my friend says "AAAAAGH GHOST" just to scare the shit out of us. but really I hate your question

Make sure to not have taken anything from the place you explore just to be safe, they could get you on theft if you do. Make sure you don't wear anything that makes you look suspicious, like black clothes or hoodies or masks. Wear just some jeans and a T-shirt. Hell, some urbexers have gotten a little creative and simply donned a construction hat and reflective vest and posed as surveyors or construction workers, but please don't try that shit, the consequences from impersonating like that can be more than you can handle, and may include jail time/large fine. But try to avoid anyone during the urbex adventures, no one likes a conflict with a pissed off junkie or person of authority.
But try to avoid anyone during the urbex adventures, no one likes a conflict with a pissed off junkie or person of authority.
Avoiding them can cause more trouble since making noises can get their suspicion up. For example: One time I was alone about 5 years ago. I was 17. It was some of my very first urban exploration journey. I saw a guy, and ignored him and walked the different direction. I stepped on a stick and he heard, and saw me. I went to grab my bike and rode it away, that guy ended up knocking on my door and told my parents they were jehovas witnesses.
Have any of you encountered anything paranormal while urbexing?
That question would fit better on /x/
