It's mostly just a third person shooter with stealth elements honestly, I'm not even very good at it and I'm running around gunning everyone down The other games being clunky to play made being caught alone a big penalty. Imagine trying to play MGS1, 2, or 3 running around killing everyone without trying to sneak, it'd be a huge challenge. It also feels far too drawn out. I'm 14 hours in about and sick of Afghanistan, sick of doing side ops. I just want the story. 14 hours is how long it takes to beat an entire MGS game before they decided to add the weird Mother Base stuff and honestly I just don't care for it. To me, MGS is a linear story-based stealth series, like the first 4 games in the series.

I want to keep playing the mass effect games over and over forever but me3 always just puts me in a bad mood for some reason

I mean I wish we could make mass effect mods or even fan games (if ea doesn't sue you to death, rape your corpse and drop you in the protein vats) so we could actually have more content instead of waiting for me4 which may or may not even be good

One of my friends said he's been trying to play the game like Thief, avoiding guys entirely, and that seems pretty neat.
