I think the best start would be to be as open with those close to you about the confidence issue, let them know that you might periodically need a bit of positive reinforcement or to just be spoken too frankly. Also the berating thing: If you can make one long term goal for self improvement that you know you'll follow through on make it to stop beating yourself up so often. I did this all the time, just constant internal comments about how much of an idiot I was. Try to catch yourself when you do and remind yourself otherwise, as much as you might not believe it initially.

Neat, I managed to finish watching art streams early enough so I can go to bed at a decent hour. Think I'll take advantage of that now.
