I'd rather talk to Jacob, TBH.

WAYT v. Mass Effect General
Tbh Mass Effect 2 is my favorite, ME3 just feels like Bioware laying the smackdown on everyone we love and saturating the walls in angst
God that game was unbearable as much as it was fun
you don't know [sp]the awesomeness of a puppy's paw pads[/sp]?
[sp]teach me[/sp]
I didn't really have too much of a problem with ME3's shift to a darker tone because it at least makes sense. And there's always Citadel to bring it back to funny lighthearted bullshit.
But yeah, ME2 is probably my favorite. I love ME1 to pieces especially because it's the start of the series, but the gameplay just gets in the way of everything else. ME2's gameplay isn't as good as 3's, but unlike ME1's it doesn't feel like an obstacle. And ME3's ending kinda brings it out of the running and into honorable mention to me.

ME2 was dark tone, ME3 was black screen
I get the feeling Bioware's writers were going through a mass episode of severe depression as they were writing the script

Seriously like Cry of Fear in space, the whole game was just a constant raincloud

Again, I don't feel like it's a knock against the game. I mean it's galactic genocide we're dealing with, it's gonna get dark. ME1 and 2 always hinted to some pretty fucked up shit ahead of the series. And given that 2 was much darker than 1, I expected 3 to be pretty close to what it was.
Personal opinion of course. I can see WHY people wouldn't like it.
I just want a space adventure where you can recruit homies and travel the galaxy with no GREAT ANCIENT EVIL GALAXY DESTROYING threats on the horizon.
Granted I was one of the people that was disappointed that [sp]you can go on a suicide mission in 2 without any casualties[/sp] (<- ME2)
I just want a space adventure where you can recruit homies and travel the galaxy with no GREAT ANCIENT EVIL GALAXY DESTROYING threats on the horizon.
I want straight space pimpin'.
[editline]4th September 2015[/editline]
Like, while landing on a planet I have Straight Outta Compton blasting from my ship

A la Firefly or something.
Space Westerns :joy:

I don't HATE the whole galactic threat space opera stuff, but yeah, I always wanted a game like ME with a more personal story.
SWTOR kinda scratched that itch with some of its personal stories. Playing an Inquisitor for instance, you're not trying to stop some evil galaxy threatening plot, you're just trying to climb your way to the top of the Sith hierarchy from the absolute bottom. Full stop.
A la Firefly or something.
Space Westerns :joy:
Judging by me4's trailer that seems to be what they're going for but I expect something hamfistedly heartwrenching to happen or have happened to drive the story

I'll be kinda disappointed if they do, considering they had Ghost Riders In The Sky as the song for the trailer.

Space Westerns :joy:
Exactly. Here I can make the bad guy right now. Who is he/she. Fuck if I know, some space hardass. Why are they mad at me? You pissed in their helmet while you were drunk or something, who cares? Get in the ship!
Judging by me4's trailer that seems to be what they're going for but I expect something hamfistedly heartwrenching to happen or have happened to drive the story
I think Ghost Riders in the Sky was just a choice for the trailer. I don't expect that to carry over thematically.

Also, until now I was all like "I have no reason to really dislike ME4 yet, I just don't know enough about it."
And then yesterday I found it it's being written by the guy that wrote Halo 4... So expectations took quite a hit... To say the least.

Also in this dream game of mine, there would be a point where you find an ancient artifact that eludes to a big monstrosity from the stars. From here you have 2 options. Hand it over to the nearest person and send them on their quest to greatness, or you go check it out. If you go to check it out you get this scene. When you reach the place of this cosmic terror [sp] you find it's corpse with a note attached "Sorry I killed your antagonist [/sp]

that sounds cool
Y'know what, it's Friday and the start of Labor Day weekend, so I'm treating myself to 9 boneless wings instead of the usual 6. :toot:
I wasn't particularly impressed by DAI (or its fucking character models, christ) from what little I played of it, so my hopes for ME4 aren't extremely high anyways
Would like to give DAI another try though once I finish building my new computer
I am in the slowest fucking drive thru right now I've been in a 3 CAR LINE FOR 20 FUCKING MINUTES

I never have really dived into the DA series, I played a bit of the first one and thought it was alright.
I only have heard bad things about DA2 and DAI though.
ITS A GOD DAMN TACO BELL

Ram through them like a monster truck and zoom off into the stratosphere like a boss~

DA2 is ok, DAI is pretty good, I'm just bitter :v:

From what I've seen, the only gripe I got for ME4 is the armors.
At the moment, they look like something out of an anime, instead of like a good chunk of the armors from the originals.
More flashy than anything.
