Christians ruin everything.
You're nuts, I'm Christian and I loved Invader Zim, that was a gross cartoon, I thought it was awesome. Not the best cartoon ever, but pretty close to it. Can somebody make/revive a Ren&Stimpy thread already? edited: Zim got a worse rap because this kid carved an H into some girls back, according to Wiki, I think a logical explanation as to why this kid did that is, he was either A: bullied, B: hit 14, and discovered Marilyn Manson, or C: A, and B, and he finally had enough of the CONFORMIST PIGS.
Why do the best shows get cancelled and the shitty ones get twenty seasons?
Invader Zim was critically accepted, winning two awards and nominations for the first episode . Since its cancellation, it has acquired renewed acclaim, with a 9.1/10 rating on TV.com and a 9.2/10 on IMDb. The DVD release has also renewed interest and re-evaluation of the show, receiving high scores and sales. Invader Zim did not escape criticism. When Invader Zim was launched along with The Fairly OddParents, Christian Parenting Today criticised both programs negatively, calling them "non-Christian", "immoral" and "insulting towards Christian values and beliefs". More negative criticism came when Invader Zim was cited in the murder trial of Scott Dyleski. The prosecution asserted that the defendant had a fascination with images of body parts. They drew attention to comments he had made after watching the Invader Zim episode "Dark Harvest", where Zim collects human organs in an attempt to appear more human. Witnesses for the defense said that the comments were made in jest. So it was pretty much christians who got it banned and it wasnt the bloody gir
Where in the copy-pasted Wikipedia article did it ever say Zim was canceled because of Christians?
Christians re-taint everything!
i once found fairly odd parents hentai
i once found fairly odd parents hentai
how
Where in the copy-pasted Wikipedia article did it ever say Zim was canceled because of Christians?
Nowhere, because it wasn't canceled because of Christians. This entire thread is a perfect example of how FPers are willing to immediately jump to conclusions and enter a long Religion Bash with little or no justification.
i once found fairly odd parents hentai
You mean rule34? Because hentai can only be from either japanese artist or an anime. Nekkid cartoons are rule34
Things like this give religion a bad name.
Religion has caused more deaths worldwide then anything else, so shut the fuck up, religion gives religion a bad name
I don't think it was Religion that canceled the show. It was the executives looking at their profits and what new and upcoming things to turn out. It rans its course, a short course but it was going to end someday.
HELL YEAH! I bought a whole DVD set for this shit a long time ago! brb gonna go watch it [editline]01:12PM[/editline] Woah I didn't know the picture was that big! D:
This show was truly dumb as fuck. I couldn't stand it. Gir bugged the living fuck out of me and so many kids watched it because Gir was random. Get the fuck out of here with that dumb ass show
It was a good show, but the medium was too limiting for Jhonen Vasquez, I'd like to see him animate something with no restraints.
Isn't the show supposed to be coming back on air soon, that's what a friend told me
I thought it was because Nickelodian kept limiting the invader zim crew aswell as complications between the people in the crew.
woah no religion pls

Invader Zim was axed because the corrupt corporate executives running Nickelodeon were disappointed in the fact that it didn't appeal to the network's target demographic of 8-11 year old tweens. Not because a bunch of moral guardians said so.
Fairly Odd Parents are anti-christian? wut?
Seriously? SERIOUSLY? You're honestly just grasping for straws now. Do you honestly believe a giant, GIANT corporation cares about some obscure fundie group that influences no one? This cartoon has been dead for like a decade, who gives a shit already, damn.
Jhonen Vasquez cut of ties with Nickelodeon because they were very manipulative and attempted to force the show against his vision. If you have read "I Feel Sick", you would have known that. He makes fun of Nickelodeon in it. Case closed.
That show had some badass techno
Quick guys make a petition about how we should get invader zim back on air!~
I miss this show, I used to get a lot of crap for thinking it was amazing. Then, about last year everybody was wearing Gir shirts and was "OMG I LUV GIR HIS SO RANDUM xD." Kinda ruined the show for me :(
Old episodes are being shown again at 6pm PST on nicktoons (not nickelodeon.) Recording all the episodes..
It got canceled because Mr. Vazquez hated the restrictions nick kept on giving him. Plus he was sick of the hot topic fanbase. So tl;dr The creator canceled it.
Fairly Odd Parents are anti-christian? wut?
If it has magic, someone whose Christian is gonna complain sooner or later.
It was cancelled because of lack of interest and rising production cost, if I recall correctly.
I think that's what they said on the DVD commentaries. I'll have to re-watch them.
