Cymbals still get damaged whenever you play them, so you just don't play your cymbals for 30 years or more. Yes, playing cymbals like that makes their life shorter, but, anyway, what would you do to play something special on the drumkit? Anything, sometimes.
i can do that all i want, doesn't make it good technique
The point is about to have the technique, but also the "soul". You can have moderate technique, but you can have that subtle feel of where and what to play, like 16s somewhere, little groove insertions etc that makes listener tap his feet, fingers, dance to it. I work on this mainly, but I don't forget the technique. I really respect Ginger's playing, what "soul" he fills into a song, not much people can get it [sp]like someone in this thread[/sp], calling him a crackhead or some turd like that, well, he's not their soul. Let them just listen to their own "music".
So, if you trained your left hand to play 4ths on a cymbal, still doesn't makes it feel good.
Everybody defines his own "soul" standarts for a music, so I think you'll get my message if you try.
hloy siht itz liek im on utube!!!!!!
[sp]Put a cock out of your mouth and repeat your message. Thank you.[/sp]
Having good technique doesn't automatically take away the "soul" of the playing. Technique makes it easier to express yourself on the kit and not hurting yourself and the drums.
I think me and the others would take your messages better if you didn't spout out random insults all the time.
And yes, Ginger was/is a heavy drug user. You can't deny that. Didn't say he didn't have soul in his playing.
if you didn't spout out random insults all the time
Nobody said you should take it seriously.
Ok, I'll take none of what you said seriously.
I've been playing drums only for around 3-4 months and I can already play most Metallica songs...
Master of Puppets and Disposable Heroes are good examples.
They say I play like someone who has played for years
lol if "they" is friends and family and people that don't play than they have no idea what they are talking about. you could play back in black and people say your amazing. your getting full of yourself too early in your attempts. metallica songs are essentially 5 or 6 beats.

idk how to put a cock out of my mouth but as soon as science tells me how to do that i will glady do it and then repeat what i said
They say I play like someone who has played for years
Yeah, you can end your drumming on that.
Do you guys have any good exercises for improving diddle timing and consistency?

Oh by the way here is a drum cover I did a long time ago; recorded with a Rock Band microphone, and edited into the song with Audacity.
THIS RECORDING IS A LITTLE BIT AHEAD OF THE SONG. I CANNOT CONSISTENTLY RUSH LIKE THAT, BELIEVE ME. I know am milliseconds off on the main verse (where I play on the hi-hat for a stack effect); I've fixed that since. I know all of the horrendous fills I do (most of them are unneeded, such as each and every one of them in the jazzy parts), and I've learned to make fills that fit the style.
You can still feel free to critique.

It's simply too large to have in this room with it between my legs.
Plus the stand is a bit wonky.
im p sure thats gonna develope some really bad techniques having it offset that much. can't you just set it up between legs when playing and move it afterward?
i tried that, It's kinda high and i have to move in my stool all the way otherwise i hit it. The stand is fucked.
so someone in the last thread a while ago recommended me a drum set
i was retarded and didn't bookmark it
it was $400 online. the website was pretty nice looking
anyone wanna help?
i guess any reccomendation would be cool
Any kit recommendations for a beginner? I plan to get mine in december. I've played twice with no experience (pro shit at rock band though). I play stuff like thrash and melodic death metal so I also plan on getting double bass pedals as well.

i love it
it sounds extremely great for the money + ludwig
If anyones interested, here's some blues, rock and boogie drumming I did for the blues-band I'm in. The show was sold out, and the crowd was great.

Also, I've started as a drum teacher for 2 students, which is a new and exciting experience.

i can't sync for shit
Goddamn me. Every time I just mess around with my drumset I get into a groove that sound so damn good, like I was just making this cool African+jazz beat centered around paradiddlediddles, and it was just so GOOD, but I never record it. fuck

Still the only drum cover I have on youtube :( And when I watch it now, I realize how badly I played. Could do it much smoother and better now, but too lazy to do it again... :P
Get me an online 80s sounding drum machine.
So, any one else auditioning for drum and bugle band this month?
