Go rent an apartment. They're not really expensive (depending on the location though).
well if it can be with people I know/trust then fine
It's unlikely you'd know the people before you got there. And i'm pretty sure there's usually more than 3 or 4 beds/people per room.
then sorry well do I at least get a lock with my room and how much will it cost for like 4 weeks
tell me week pay to
Anything to keep THESE FUCKERS out.

Gaijin is literally the only Japanese word I know, purely because everyone in Red Steel yelled it at you all the time.
[editline]ff[/editline]
Unless it doesn't mean something like foreigner in which case I'm back down to knowing zero words.

that wont do it :( that will only make them mad
They are known to kill with the sting/venom on it's own, even if you're not allergic. The stinger is actually 1/4 of a fucking inch and feels like a rusty nail being jabbed into your leg.
And it's not barbed, so it WILL sting more than once.
so like do I have net in around my bed or window.?
-snip-
Dont let them scare you. I spent a a little less than a month in Japan, mainly around Tokyo and Kyoto. Didn't see one of those hornets even once.
Oh advice on housing? eh I don't know. But don't expect anything you get to be big. In fact if you get something like an apartment, do not be surprised if you can reach out and touch all 4 walls in places.
Tokyo is probably not a wise place to stay for long term due to population density. If you think these houses fits your lifestyle better, go for it as long as you can find western style houses for sale/rent, at least for an affordable price. Single houses in Japan are not affordable at all, rented or not (unless you are wanting to live in the country side)
Otherwise, I don't see why the alternatives would be so bad in living in Japanese's definition of traditional or modern style apartments and (rarely) housings.
You can't find deals like that anywhere nearby Tokyo. Places like you pictured don't even exist unless you're at least a few hours out (unless it's very close to a regional railway like Tsukuba Express, in which case the distance is the same but the travel time is shorter). If you want to live in the city, your best bet is a youth hostel. You might have to room-share, you might not have a TV and Internet in your room, but the price will be around $750.
Besides, unless you have at least a non-travel visa (like a student visa or work visa) you can't stay longer than 3 months and you won't be able to rent an apartment or a house, so your only choices are a kind of hotel or a youth hostel.
Why would you want to go to japan if you're going to live in a European styled house?
Besides, Japan westernized a long time ago. Even in traditional houses they have tv's and all modern comforts.

Having TV's and modern comforts has nothing to do with being westernized...
Does anybody else know what gaijin meant just because they saw fast and the furious: tokyo drift?
Having TV's and modern comforts has nothing to do with being westernized...
No because werternizing obviously has absolutely nothing to do with embracing western technology and ideals.

What the fuck, western technology? This isn't the 50's.
No, having a TV has nothing to do with "embracing western ideals".

Uh having a tv =/= westernized
Ok this is going a bit offtopic i guess but this is what the wiki says:
Westernization is a process whereby societies come under or adopt Western culture in such matters as industry, technology, law, politics, economics, lifestyle, diet, language, alphabet, religion, philosophy, and/or values.
Excuse me if i am wrong, but using western technology westernizes a country according to that. Even if it's just a slightest step toward it.

Yes, and again, your argument would be valid if it this was the 50's when the technology in televisions was actually western and built in the West.
Are you implying Japan is a western country then?
Are you implying Japan is a western country then?
No, I'm implying that there is nothing particularly western about modern televisions, and they're not necessarily built in the West or by western companies.
Bye.
just go to one of those motel things or whatever
it's not like you're going to spend much time inside an apartment anyways otherwise it'd be a waste of a trip or whatever
This. They have a lot of them and they're very nice. I lived in one for 2 or years while waiting to move on base.
We've known our land lords for years, we only pay $350 a month for rent. :v:
It's only two bedroom one bath, but that's still damn cheap.
Weeaboo house.
No but seriously, $800 a month just to rent it, that seems like a bit too much in my opinion.
The house I'm renting in for costs me $1,400 a month.
