You have the opportunity to go through an agency that has families lined up to adopt because they cannot have a child themselves. These families will be happy to take the child into a loving home, providing it's a healthy child and as far as I know, you don't have to pay a cent.
I don't think many know about agencies when they are given the option to "adopt out".

I actually like to ask a few questions.
Firstly and most importantly, did your girlfriend ever decide to take some form of pregnancy test?
Secondly, if so and she is pregnant, have you both ever considered an abortion? Or at least an adoption?
If you do both decide to keep/give birth to your child, I would like to ask the following questions.
Can both of you respond to any important given situation correctly? What if serious problems arise before birth? What if your child gets sick? What if you have major financial problems? What if you both don't have time to look after your child, and neither do your friends or parents?
You're only just 17. There is a high probability that both of you are not going to pull through this easily without some form of a large loss. The other important factors which can increase the stress includes your age, your time taken away from other important things (such school and work for instance), and the inability to think through, discuss, asses and/or prevent this current situation in a mature manner.
Personally if you can get a job, understand how to live and look after both yourself and your girlfriend as a member of the adult society, then you can consider if both of you really are ready to look after a 3rd person (in this case, you and your girlfriends child).
Can I make some suggestions for names or am I bit early?

I also know people who have had abortions and are doing fine. You can't really tell how every individual woman feels after an abortion.
