Warrior names are given when they are kittens, before personality. Rainbow Dash would be named Rainkit when she was born, for the fur colour (blue). Then wing to represent her speed since that is her best skill. It's actually a functional warriors name... oddly enough.

I'm not at all a Sonic buff, but iirc they're just a bunch of fun platforms for the Genesis and stuff that involved a spiky blue guy running around fast and collecting rings.

Yeah only 3 entire animated TV series plus an OVA. Then there's all the 3D spinoffs and constantly re-releasing the original games leaves you with a character who just never dies. Why won't you die dammit!
