While I agree somewhat, I still enjoy the edits and talking about what's wrong with his work. I got so much better at art just from learning not what to do from Tom Preston.
And the whole reason I joined FP was seeing the Preston talk in an older dA appreciation station :v:

OC's are fine so long as they aren't over the top (e.g. sparkledogs) or shoddily recolored existing characters (e.g. nearly every sonic oc ever)

Talking about Tom Preston opens up the opportunity for making jokes about him, and amusing comic edits. Both of which are fun.

It gets very boring, reading Mary Sue descriptions/backstories. Especially if it's in broken English. My Mum's an English teacher, and seeing badly written shit with bad punctuation or no punctuation at all makes me want to set the writer on fire.

I really hate how all of these characters have all of the possible character traits and their opposite, always have "a darker side", have some generic goal to their life ([I]protecting their friends oh god how original[/I]) and how they're always, invariably and positively bisexual.
Why would you even make yet another one of these characters?

I think that the only time dobson should be brought up in this thread is every time he does something stupid or terrible. Like making a big journal that only digs himself deeper in his downward spiral into nothing.
From now on, if dobson's comic is just boring and unfunny, it doesn't need posted. If it's like a strawman comic or a really dumb political cartoon, feel free to post.

What about if we post particularly amusing edits? Can we post the source material the edit was made of?
i could probably come up with a good list of places to grief and be annoying at within SL. if you just do it at sandbox island or the extension, you'd only be harassing other noobs and the lindens moderate it pretty good, so you'd get banned within a day. since we're sorta on the subject of second life since it's coming to steam, i'd like to know if i could mildly plug my non-ironic tumblr i made to document horrible avatars and objects i've found in the game. general poll or should i PM dai about it?

Since apparently fp is going to have fun dicking around in SL someone should probably just make a thread for it in GGD.
