Even though there is so much wrong with that, the coloring above the eyes bother me the most.

Hetalia's "gay" for the same reason tf2 is "gay". All-male or male focused cast leaves no room for M/F pairings in the fanart therefore it's gay. Also the audience is supposed to be girls ?13-?18 (I think) so it would seem most of the fanart would be made by girls who're learning what sex is in school.
