I've been inside a Hot Topic ONCE.

I was Christmas shopping and noticed how they were advertising Adventure Time stuff, so I bit the bullet and decided to have a look inside. The floor was just steel grating, there was this dank moldy smell over the whole thing, a vaguly-human shaped blob (gender is still up for debate) waddled inbetween clothing racks like an obese shark. As Henry Jones Sr. once said, "[i]we're pilgrims in an unholy land.[/i]"
Then this girl who I assume worked there walks right up to me and mumbles "we're having a sale on MP3s..." before trailing off and walking away. The second her back turned, I darted out of there and ran to the Disney store, where I bought some neat Tron stuff for my little brother and tried as hard as I could to not look like a teenage pedophile.
And while I was in there? I saw no Adventure Time stuff.
My guess is they hid it in the very back, reel you in so you can't just duck in for a second, buy your shit, and leave.
Just recently, I needed to go buy a Superman shirt for a Halloween costume. So I'm strolling through the mall, checking all the normal places, knowing in the back of my mind that Hot Topic would, without a doubt, have exactly what I was looking for.
I prayed it wouldn't come to that.
Struck by inspiration, I fled to Old Navy.
Bam, right in front, a nice, bright Superman graphic tee, cheap as dirt and comfortable as shit.
I had bested Hot Topic once again, I would not suffer the indignity of passing the dancing scenester wearing a panda hat to spend $25 on a shit-quality shirt.
