Trying to learn After Effects while on the job. Having a lot of fun with it so far!
Made some changes. I think this is better, but if anyone has feedback it's still a work in progress.
[img_thumb]http://www.tecstory.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/10/Iam.png[/img_thumb] Tossed it together. Thoughts? (The main character seen here is taking on the mantle of the last historian, and is a very lonely man. I think the composition really reflects that) Edit: maybe lift his left hand up a bit so it's more obvious?

Must have forgotten to center it. Not a finished draft. I think I'll redraw the head area too. I don't think it's clear enough that its a scarf [editline]20th October 2015[/editline] What about the other designs? Anyone like the layout? Have any suggestions? I. Better at crafting a story than graphic designs.

You're right. The scarf melted into his head lol. I really like the composition so I think I'll redo him all together.
Dunno where else to post this, but eh. Decided to try and dip my hand into pixel art, as I haven't done much art related in a while (was never much good at it, but eh). Picked up some tutorials I found online and boy do those things escalate quickly. "Draw a box. Good job! Now draw a shaded and detailed boulder." If any one else has experience with this stuff, mind giving me some tips? And maybe a little critique on the rock? A rock is a rock, even when drawn from reference, but I'd love some other views on it. [editline]21st October 2015[/editline] Woop, that's a bit small. Not much I can do about it though.

You nailed the colour and texture, but it looks flat because it isn't lit to look three dimensional. I presume its a sphere? kinda hard to tell what exactly you're going for anyway i did these quick sketches

I'll see if I can work on that; I was mostly just following a reference, though it was bigger, and I probably just didn't notice or think about the lighting. Thanks.

Next time maybe try using a wider canvas, and really push atmospheric perspective

so after many years my intuos3 is finally dead, and i've been wondering what everyone thinks of the newer models? i keep hearing about problems with the newer models, and how much the pen nibs of the newer ones wear so much so i am kind of worried and would like some advice on what kind of tablet to purchase next price range is anything, but i'm not about to bomb 2k on a cintiq or anything like that or should i try to get my hands on another intuos3? i hear that 2048 pen pressure sensitivity is great too, but i wouldn't really know since i've never tried or even seen the difference and i really like the smooth surface of my intuos3 which i hear the newer models now have a paper feel
I have an intuos pro medium 5 and I think it's great. The nibs do wear down pretty quick but big deal, they're not expensive. I like the kind of matte finish of the surface, I think it feels better than smooth. Don't really have anything bad to say about it, it does the job.
what about the cord? i also hear of people having issues with that
what about the cord? i also hear of people having issues with that
I would be happier if it went into the side of the tablet stronger actually, do people have problems with it breaking? I haven't had any problems with it but I can see how it could end up broken.
so after many years my intuos3 is finally dead, and i've been wondering what everyone thinks of the newer models?
After using my Intuos 3 for around 5-6 years, I recently bought a cintiq 13hd. Can't imagine going back but I would reccomend trying one out before you buy to see how it feels to you.

The 3 is a bit smoother to draw on but I find the touch wheel on the Pro to be pretty useful. And with the cable I can see how it can break if it were abused and jerked around a bit, but this thing has wireless capability. So since my desk is too high for my preference to draw on, I can just disconnect the thing and get comfy. It's like having a sketchbook basically.

hi guys im shit at art, could i please get some feedback on this? the chalk line/blood thing was done in the last 5 minutes as a placeholder bc i am having a rough time with doing a crime scene. i know it's not nearly as good as anything in this thread i am just hoping to learn [editline]23rd October 2015[/editline] bigger version here http://i.imgur.com/GybTwQt.png
I think the puddle/tools under it need to look more flattened. as it is, it looks like the floor around them is a wall, and the puddle/tools are stuck on it. The concrete in the hole leading to the pipe needs some shading too, it seems like, to give it some depth.
I tried starting this up with just a quick gesture lines and then just started painting over. I usually just do heavy sketch or lineart first so this was sort of new and fun.
testing rings for planets in that spacegame im working on
