Been fucking around with Unreal Engine and the Oculus Rift, here's what I've done so far (as a proof of concept)
SNIP (taking this off while I switch from YouTube to Vimeo, they muted my audio)
ps. I know this isn't how fires work in space :P
You using Art rage 4?
I am. I have recently started using it and I really like it. I really like very painterly landscapes and I'm not too fond of the overly digital look so it's perfect for what I want. I'm still trying to figure out my ideal settings on the oil brush for the thinners, brush stiffness and loading because I don't want those shiny brush grooves to be so noticeable. I've used oil IRL and when it dries it doesn't look that shiny, so just experimenting with that.
did a doodle. do y'all think I should take this further?

Looks awesome as a scene, defo take it further. The only thing IMO is the comp is a little bit cluttered. I would stretch the whole thing out horizontally and put more space between foreground guy and the man walking away in the middle.

needs fluffy clouds, happy little bushes, and a great big tree.
I painted a projection of some kind of pit inside a 3D plane in Blender as an experiment.

Is the perspective okay or not?
Dunno if this is the right place to ask but, i have to reproduce a masterpiece figure drawing for my figure drawing class, but i have no clue what to pick..
So is a creative writing area or should I take manifestations of the literary arts to a different thread?
Some people post it here, but it never gets much critique no matter where you post it because it often takes a lot of effort to read the whole thing, and often the writing means a lot more to the person who wrote it, so it can be hard to properly invest in.

People don't respond to anything not visual arts here really.

I like how you're developing your style a bit. One thing I'd say watch out for is muddiness when you blend different values and colors. It's not really easy for me to explain, but the foreground road and that mountain going green to grey seem to suffer this. It's something small that I have trouble with, but it helps to keep an eye out for it.

Thanks, yeah as you've seen blending is kind of new to me haha. I know what you mean about the road, I have a neverending struggle of rendering things with gradients in that they either end up as a load of incoherent blocks of solid colour or watery porridge. Roads are probably the thing which I find most difficult because they always have a soft gradient but are a hard, rough surface. I think I'll experiment with blending with a bit more texture and pushing the value and temperature of the colours I'm mixing more. Definitely something for me to look out for, cheers.

The bloom and lens flares look really heavy but when you play with the Oculus it appears more subtle. Here's a video:

There's obviously a few textures missing here and there but really it was just a proof of concept, to see how to put certain elements together. I don't think I'll be adding much more to this, as I'm now trying out a few new things with the Oculus and UE4.
that looks super sexy
i love space
