did some doodling after a couple years of barely doing any drawing whatsoever. very into the "distressed girl with phone" genre, apparently it's not much compared to the other things people have posted in here, but i'm super happy with 'em also, hands "R" hard
A copper for a story idea i've got worming around in my head. [t]http://i.imgur.com/UPADSyv.jpg[/t]
You might enjoy the art style of my friend's game, Dolly
Ahhh, I saw that ages ago, it was featured on PC gamers free games of the week thing. I thought it looked really nice.
Hey so remember that animation I was going to post in about a weeks time about a month ago? sadly things didn't work out as 2 render farms weren't working with Maya and when they finally did get the second one working it went under maintenance for the weekend, the same week the project was due :v:. As a result I had to render it on my computer at a lower quality to get the images on time, not as good looking as I hoped it would be. :hairpull: It was fun playing with 3D animation but I might stick with 2D stuff for now. Have a crappy walk cycle instead:
if i pick up a 13hd cintiq should i get a screen protector? there seems to be mixed feelings when i ask people so i figure i'd ask here as well
It's been a while since I posted the show, so I'll post the last couple of episodes. Episode 6: The Green Ruins - Part I "Joseph hears of a mysterious 'Large Green Box' out in the wilderness. After some convincing, he gets Arthur to come along. As with always with two old friends, things don't go as smoothly as planned" Episode 7: The Green Ruins - Part II "After finding The Green Ruins, Joseph and Arthur slowly enter. Not knowing what they will find, or where their discoveries will take them. Being near a building of The Ancestors is strange enough for them, much less going inside of one. What they find will change their path and place in The Collective Forever, they just don't know it yet." Episode 8: The Silicone Cook - Part I "The search for Emma's Father's leather-bound journal finally gets some traction as Emma found a riddle in her father's letters to her mother. The riddle seems to make no sense, and apparently only "The Silicone Cook" has the answer. The search for The Silicone Cook begins."

If the glass isn't like the phones and tablets of today, then maybe you should get one that is as hard as current tablets and phones. I've got one on my phone simply for more shock-absorption if i potentially drop it, but i dont have one on my iPad mini at all. Although I am thinking of getting one for my ipad simply for better fingerprint resistance, like a glass similar to what's on the iphone 6s.

I see, I dunno man.
Prototyping some leather notebooks for merchandise in 2016. Never done leatherwork before. [img_thumb]http://www.tecstory.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/11/2015-11-11_19.54.211.jpg[/img_thumb] This is the "Mechanic Profession" logo from the show. The Mechanics keep the Collective running. [img_thumb]http://www.tecstory.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/11/2015-11-13_16.03.06.jpg[/img_thumb] Joseph Crane is the lead character. [img_thumb]http://www.tecstory.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/11/2015-11-13_16.27.52.jpg[/img_thumb] Obviously I'm going for the mechanical aesthetic. I stamped and burned things in with actual nails and screws.

Its to scale with a Hasselblad and takes some designs from it. Could still use some work but for it being the first thing i've ever made in Sketchup i'm pretty happy with it.
[t]http://i.imgur.com/jYqajNQ.png[/t] Not finished. I need some advice or something. First time coloring like this. I use SAI btw.
For your first time, I'd say it's good enough. One thing though, her right palm, it should not hold the crossbow like that. It's hard to describe, but try holding something long enough to rest it on your shoulder, then compare the way your fingers are positioned to your drawing. Crossbow's perpective is also off. See how its handle is aligned compared to the prod/limb.

Just think about how you would hold a crossbow like her. Imagine how you would hold it. [t]http://i.imgur.com/HxLKEUv.png?1[/t] As for the crossbow, you can either fix or shade the butt so that it looks rounded.

I finished modelling that blacksmith I drew. Not the best but I'm reasonably happy with where it went. Just got to rig and texture it now. [t]http://puu.sh/lo171/8acf6eaf40.png[/t] [editline]16th November 2015[/editline] I ditched the pouch because it looked wonky and I thought it might be difficult to get whatever is in it to not clip through the front. That and the topology was pretty horrible.
Looks sweet. I think the pouch would still be a good addition - perhaps add it on as a texture? Or normal map if you're doing that
I could easily have it as a texture in the low poly (part of the assignment is making a low poly, 5k game version) but if I were to do a pouch in the high poly, I'd rather have the geometry there. [t]http://puu.sh/lo2NO/c0b7b63668.png[/t] There's just something I don't like about it.
Did a photostudy
Mmm... I love the lighting, its my favourite type. So warm.
Thanks, that's really what I wanted to practice, it was a colour study more than anything. If you haven't already, you should check out Simon Stålenhag's paintings. He's my favourite artist and a big inspiration for the atmosphere he gets into his pictures. He nails that kind of warm light in the cold type atmosphere. http://www.simonstalenhag.se/
holy damn dude, the texturing on the brushes really kicks some ass beautiful
