Well my art so far has been improving Though, wish i can teleport myself a year ago and bitch slap my past self back then when i had the idea that i could learn anything overnight.
Just some 'bot sketches I made out of boredom... [t]http://i.imgur.com/y3mtNcR.jpg[/t] [t]http://i.imgur.com/LMjpy9k.jpg[/t] Might eventually try reproducing them digitally, but for now I'm fine keeping them on paper. *The legs on both are meant for fast-paced movement, and kicking. That's why they're somewhat tapered and non-humanoid in appearance below the hips and/or knees. EDIT: Oh, and I forgot to mention that the lines may seem a bit thick or distorted due to the small size of the sketchbook and my fairly simple pen I have for inking: a fine-tip permanent marker+pen deal. I'm working on getting some Copics or similar pens soon. BTW, my handwriting sucks, so feel free to ignore it.
I'm guessing you've been watching Evangelion lately? Getting vibes from that.

Anyone have the Huion H610PRO? Looking for a tablet since I have some spare money
I'm guessing you've been watching Evangelion lately? Getting vibes from that.
The eva units are a design I like, but I've really been inspired a ton by the concept art from the art books in the "Nuthin' but Mech" series, as well as various concept artists online.

And finally just fucking start to put in some actual work. I've discovered only recently that this is what I want to do with my life.

Like I want to draw and make things and inspire people and tell stories for a living. But I'm pretty sure I don't want to draw for 14 hours a day to make that living. But how do you know until you have done itttttttt
Yeah, it's really fucking hard to figure out, i'm 25 now and i feel old.. I started drawing when I was like 22 so i'm really late. Finally i'm starting to believe in myself and I'm really working on skills instead of a pointless random drawing I did like every week. I mean I'm still doing random shit but at least I'm actually learning stuff fast. Feels good to have some direction..

Its a terrifying decision, thinking of chasing the art career side since it can be a fuckload of work and not a lot of reward (initially). Thought of getting your feet wet by doing some minor/freelance work? I write for a music production website which has been a good way to see how much I want to make music "work" for me. That might be an option, writing for another website or doing some light work on the side.

I've got a big project in the works that's going to require a lot of commitment from myself, but it's just a business venture between me and my flatmates, so there are no real clients or art directors to interface with. I think it'll give me a taste, though. I've also done some (unpaid) work experience at an animation studio doing concept art. I didn't really enjoy it, but it may be because they didn't give me any deadlines at all and feedback from the actual director sometimes took weeks to come through, so there was very little sense of meaningful impact. Cheers for the link! I'll check it out

I feel like doing some sort of series relating to Indians/British takeover My biggest problem atm is that I don't really know how to go in and render things further
I've always found that I prefer paintings to not be rendered out to a "finished" state. That's rendered enough IMO.
bought one of Kyle's Brush sets for photoshop Made a quick storyboard concept
You paid for brushes? Why? You can get Noah Bradley's or Shaddy Safadi's for free if you absolutely must have custom ones. If you watch Feng Zhu he pretty much uses the default photoshop chalk brush for 95% of the time. I just don't see the benefit in it.
Ship Concept
Wow, that's a really slick concept! I'll admit, I'm a sucker for hard angles and such in my sci-fi aesthetic taste, but still- that's killer. I would suggest, though, to sharpen up some of the lines where the sections are separated by the interior structure, since some areas look slightly over-blended as of now.
