Wow, that's a really slick concept! I'll admit, I'm a sucker for hard angles and such in my sci-fi aesthetic taste, but still- that's killer.
I would suggest, though, to sharpen up some of the lines where the sections are separated by the interior structure, since some areas look slightly over-blended as of now.
The Pic itself is still in progress, though, thanks for the critique.

Ship Concept
In terms of design, I think the tail should be shortened to at least where it's the same length as the body. Or at least added onto, to keep it interesting.

Thats the front
And a gun...

Ohhh, that makes more sense then. Though, and this may just be me, I think the glowing orange spots make them look like thrusters.

Well i should of explained its design.
Well the ship itself is completely Automated. Basically an AI warship. So those orange spots are basically "eyes' of the ship.
Its part of a sci fi story im working on.

Ideall, you shouldn't have to explain your designs. If people are having trouble reading which part is the front, what is and is not a weapon (etc) then it could mean you need to work more on the shapes and overall structure to clearly articulate visually what is what
It would be smart to reference real life, for example on the gun "barrel" you could put slots for venting or and maybe some kind of munition canister that has various warning symbols on it. Try to think of as much utility as possible to create your design, for example ask yourself questions such as "how would they see at night? How do they breathe in hostile environments? How does the system operate in both space and atmosphere (if it does). Just doing these basic questions I can recommend adding some various form of lights or glows for visual assistance, or maybe a more obvious cockpit with a life support system based off of some loose concepts we have now a days, or maybe some wings that have flaps on them for directing in atmosphere and then directional thrusters for space. Obviously you dont need to add any of these, I am just giving examples of what you should be thinking about when designing something since those kind of thoughts put into something is what makes it believable.
I think it'd be good if you could actually draw before diving into all the cool stuff like "speed paints" and ships and stuff that you see people doing

Yeah there's definitely a nicer way to phrase this sort of thing. I know we've been over this before and I'm not fussed tbh - it's something that I think you need to work on.
His drawing and rendering skills aren't awful - they're actually half decent. He's not professional level yet but it looks like he's on the right path. There are definitely some things he needs to work on, as discussed above. But shooting somebody down with 'it would be good if you could actually draw' isn't doing anything for anybody's morale.

I don't want you to feel like the only contact we have is when I call you out on shit - you do post a lot of solid advice. But yeah. Constructive criticism ain't that

Ya' welcome.
Working on a concept for one of our shots:

Things to note:
- Ramp is modeled, so it's a blockin at the minute.
- Spaceship isn't modeled so there will be more surface breakup later on, as well as the door being more... door like.
- Character isn't rigged so I can't pose him a dramatic pose just yet

I like the composition. I would add cc but it's mostly unfinished so I'll just say that the silhouette of the little man is well defined so far.
made a bunch of landscape thumbnails.
warning very brush rapey

sorceress
sry for large post.
where do you guys get references for poses and stuff? I've been thinking that stock images are probably good for getting references for simple stuff like a dude reading a newspaper while sitting at a table, someone stretching, walking, whatever.

That's some really cool water! I really fell in love with this piece for some reason.
After 2 years of waiting to get my drawing back after moving, I kind of lost hope of finishing it and decided to call it a day, post it unfinished. Now, I honestly don't know if I had posted this, or an earlier version of it here already, it's been almost two years, so forgive me for a possible repost.

It's a remake of my old doodle I made of the monster in LOST, before we knew that it was just smoke.

Assets in it are still WIP, but here's a banner for a film I'm working on, you can find more out about it here:

The dashboard could add a lot to this piece if it weren't almost non-existent.
Something like:

I agree but I didn't want it to pop too much so I kept it fairly subtle, I wanted to have the focus entirely on the road in front and what might be out in the fringes of the headlights reach. I think you are right though and I might have underdone the dash. Thanks for the CC

For those who use GIMP for graphic designs, what methods do you guys recommend for tracing drawn images and adding color?
Okay guys, remember about two weeks ago is said this:
I have done about 120 figure drawings in 3 days and i have improved already, can't wait to see the results in a month. I'm really going hard right now, trying to draw at least 4 hours a day. Before i drew like 3 times a week.. But i said fuck it let's improve my skills for real. It feels so good..
This is the first time I'm doing some actual work.. I couldn't draw a decent stick figure pose two weeks ago :v:
So here's where my figure drawing 's at now.. I'm so fucking excited! Progress!
Proko is really good so I bought the premium figure drawing stuff. Next up; anatomy!

Overall looks pretty great, dunno what's happening to his left (our right) thigh / hip though. Also it's quite an unusual pose.
