So, me and my art friends have an inside joke about cat-sharks and well, this happened. (it's a fox, but still. lmao) [t]http://i.imgur.com/74i5JJo.jpg[/t]

I just finished a proof-of-concept recolor the spritemap of Gold/Silver so they look more "modern", but still retain that nostalgic feel. Pallet Town: Recolored using FireRed/LeafGreen as a reference: I may end up doing some changes to the actual sprites instead of just the colors. It looks a bit too plain and blocky for my tastes. But yeah... past that, I don't really know where to take it. I might end up making a quick love2d game with just Pallet Town and Red walking around to maybe help get my creative juices flowing.
Is anyone here good at film editing? In kind of a desperate situation and need some back and forth with somebody to sort out a film's edit.

I did my graded presentation today for my product design course, had to design a bird feeder and went with a Scandinavian design type thing. I like it, need to get an A or I'm fuuucked though http://imgur.com/a/LHYwF?

I tried facing my fear of spiders and practicing Zdzislaw Beksinski's style at the same time. [t]http://orig03.deviantart.net/09f5/f/2016/127/4/0/the_orb_weaver_by_pilotguy97-da1oxsb.png[/t]
So what books you guys would recommend for studying drawing for a total novice? I'm aware those typical "How to Draw Manga" and similar stuff are not the reliable ones, and nothing will surpass drawing something everyday. I manage to get some books from Andrew Loomis, Jack Hamm and Barrington Barber, Richard Williams.
Although the neuroscience side of it is a load of shit, "drawing on the right side of the brain" by betty edwards is a book that helped me a lot with starting out. It focuses on the most important skill, which is correct observation drawing. Even when you draw from imagination you are observation drawing.
Can't draw circles in perspective :/ or ellipses trying to respark my interesting in drawing i really tried reading that 'right side of the brain book', but i just can't focus that long on a book lol before I fall asleep.
Made this Majora's Mask Link sprite inspired by Oracle of Ages/Seasons
Still pretty heavy on the WIP side, but I'm starting to find my bearings with this piece:
guerilla filmmaking is spooky the vietnamese supermarket men drove by on forklifts and stopped to watch and then a rentacop almost kicked us out it didnt help that the actor kept playing dead when those things happened [t]https://scontent-lax3-1.xx.fbcdn.net/v/t1.0-0/q88/p280x280/13124656_238000346577029_2597419437608605259_n.jpg?oh=a5d622ad129009b64a7867359161b829&oe=57A25C4E[/t]

Thinking of where to go with this. I do like it so far, though the composition feels kinda off as it is.
Had some fun with face drawing practice.
i haven't posted here in a while, so here's study of gustave courbet's self portrait the contrast was not nearly as good as i thought it was because my room is too dark also my first time using charcoal from beginning to end on a piece also i might have drawn it backwards
here's another thing i've been trying to learn digital rendering, but i just end up making a bunch of messy brush strokes when im trying to blend and stuff. any tips?
Haven't really drawn in years and I've almost never tried to do something remotely realistic. Started with sketching a Jon Snow ripoff: [t]http://i.imgur.com/E1oxeqI.jpg[/t] It's rough, I don't know any techniques and I don't really have any fancy pencils so stuff like hair looks kinda shite right now. Pretty happy with it though, considering I haven't drawn anything in a very long time, let alone a human face.
bunch o sketches [t]http://orig12.deviantart.net/84c9/f/2016/135/3/f/crew_sketch_by_jhkris-da2kqwv.jpg[/t] [t]http://orig11.deviantart.net/8634/f/2016/135/d/c/madussa_by_jhkris-da2ksup.jpg[/t]
I was at a gamejam this week as the artist in a 3-man team. Thought I'd post all the art assets I drew and animated. It was my first time ever animating anything, the result was pretty alright (that damn walk cycle took me like 2 hours though).

It's usually best to avoid rendering hair in sketches cause pencil can make it look very messy very quickly. fuck doing the other eye tbh
The eyepatch should follow the geometry of her face to some extent
