Here's the cover for my new book. What do you guys think? [sp]Can you guess the plot?[/sp]
Is it about apples? I bet it's about apples.
Is it about apples? I bet it's about apples.
I knew someone would say that. Oh well.
Is it about apples? I bet it's about apples.
It's obviously about oranges
Did some color studies... Not sure if studying from your favorite tv shows is such a great idea, but it does keep things enjoyable
it looks like you bumped the levels or something a whole lot when you were done with each of those? they're reaaal harsh

The first one I think is close to the ref, though, because it was really saturated I'll try to tone it down a bit next time, thanks

Some way to seperate the two parts of the word. Personally I would hope by the time we are embedding usbs we would use something better than usb 3.0 :v:
My friend asked me to make an album cover with "this drawing on fire and rotten stuff around it" [t]http://i.imgur.com/n1iIaEQ.jpg[/t] I think I got carried away.
Still WIP
I love this one! It's adorable and the little details in between its body and arms are great
Had a dream of scene 1, decided to sketch and paint it. This is the one I originally thought of and I think it turned out best. The moose in this one looks kind of dumb. This one I didn't spend so much time on because I was getting kind of bored. The lanscapes look nice, but I think you should work on your lighting and look at some moose anatomy.
Started on a new flyer for shuttle again wip, still needs some work but I like where it's going. Any thoughts?

The grass below the ship is probably the weakest part of the piece IMO. I don't think it is, but it resembles that photoshop default grass brush a little bit the way it's rendered. The ship is a bit asymmetrical in shape and edges of the ship's shadow are too soft for how close it is to the ground. here's some spells
Messing around with adding non-existent lighting to references
That seems like a decent practice just as long as you're at least somewhat familiar with how light works.
That seems like a decent practice just as long as you're at least somewhat familiar with how light works.
I almost made the bench shadow form exactly underneath the bench until I realized how unrealistic that would look considering the location of the light source so I pushed it further left.
That seems like a decent practice just as long as you're at least somewhat familiar with how light works.
so in this case just a way to pass the time
so in this case just a way to pass the time
Do you have to make witty "this sucks" remarks with everything I make?
so in this case just a way to pass the time
There are hundreds of less dickish ways to explain to him that he's doing it wrong. At least tell him what he's messing up.
Remember Konnestra, mako? Remember when you said you were jealous of her skills? She wouldn't like you making fun of one of her friends.
I for one love the fact that "Mako is a jerk" is a frequent topic in this thread. He's just not very tolerant of people who don't take the time to build their skills and get really good at basic stuff before moving onto more advanced stuff, in this case lighting. (Or more accurately, building lighting from scratch.) That's my lurking understanding of it anyway.
In the process of trying to add re-made versions of the Descent music to the actual game. Can't decide: https://soundcloud.com/randyandy16bit/descent-lunar-outpost or https://soundcloud.com/randyandy16bit/descent-moon-basealt There was a way of adding soundcloud to FP, not sure if that's gone, but I can't remember the tags. Also, uh... clocks for first and tools for second? Seriously? Nothing..? :c
Yeah he's right, it sucks that I literally haven't improved at all in the past two years
My point was; building a strong foundation is important to your learning more advanced stuff and you haven't exactly done that yet. For instance, the subject you drew has a large number of inconsistencies with your reference. Even though that's not the goal of your study, the way your lighting effects your subject would still be incorrect because it's built on top of things that are incorrect. Sometimes it's fun to mess around though and I don't mean to knock your effort completely. I mean, you're doing more than me. But you shouldn't jump past a lot of basic stuff that you have yet to master.
