It's alot of fun and seems very straight forward but if anyone has any magical tip for them I'd love to hear. ^^.
The only thing I can really say is that for studies in general, you can afford to be a bit messy, as in because this is a painting, it's nicer to actually be able to see the brushstrokes instead of something that looks like a 3-D rendered image It's fine to do that if you really want to learn how to render a painting, but I'd suggest beginning by learning how to get proper forms and colors down before going into a fine render, because this way you can get way more studies done in less time (and your base painting will look nicer and not have these unnatural angles and occasionally wonky shapes)

[t]http://i.imgur.com/JgsiZbA.png[/t] I read the first 18 pages of a Loomis book, and the world isn't ready for this. [editline]25th April 2015[/editline] [t]http://i.imgur.com/p1dGYwv.png[/t] Somebody told me it looked like a bald bill cosby

I know it's not quite up to scratch to a lot of the stuff posted here, but I just wanted to show a little thing I did. [t]http://i.imgur.com/SCnraTk.jpg[/t]

I think they should be focused on the fabric of the flag or off into the distance. here's a turtle. What's the best way to get a smooth, transparent animated .gif exported in Flash?
What's the best way to get a smooth, transparent animated .gif exported in Flash?
export an image sequence and then make it into a gif with photoshop flash is terrible at making gifs

Overall pretty solid for a first try. Did you use a reference image?

[t]http://i.imgur.com/ZTEBimN.gif[/t] It's pretty bad, but whatever. lol
you have the basis to a pretty good animation, you just need to retime everything.
Timing is my worst enemy. :v:
[t]http://i.imgur.com/ZTEBimN.gif[/t] It's pretty bad, but whatever. lol
Looks fine to me. The shape of the jaws stays more or less the same as it opens and it hinges properly in terms of space. (I could nitpick about some of the features shifting slightly as it opens but its hard to notice unless you compare the frames). Like lintz said, the timing isn't very satisfying for the animation loop. There's a lot of room for exploration in that sketchup so far. I haven't posted in a long time in one of these, but I've been practicing and putting a ton of work into studying and watching various tutorials and workflow videos from various artists and I've finally reached a point where I feel like I've improved a ton. Here's what I'm currently doing, I'm probably going to put a background to it with specific colored rimlighting and such: While I can tell there's still some imperfections and weirdness to it, specifically on how I render certain things and body proportions and such, it's a complete farcry from what I made months ago with the same subject: So if people are feeling discouraged with their art I can't stress enough to keep working at it because It's such a great feeling to realize you're improving after bleeding a ton of hours into trying to get better. I recall thinking I did a really good job with the old fanart and now I look at it and I'm just like "What in the hell?." I'm sure the same thing will repeat a few months from now.
[t]http://i.imgur.com/ZTEBimN.gif[/t] It's pretty bad, but whatever. lol
Also if you're interested in real world accuracy, the snap can be faster than a blink. It's kinda nuts.

If you don't want to get better, sure
If you don't want to get better, sure
Relax, I'll work on it. :v:
To be fair, it is a really cute. Fun fact! Alligators have rounded, U-Shaped snouts while crocodiles jaws are more pointed!
Oh, I think I got it! What if I change the timing so it holds on the almost all the way open position and then it opens a bit more right before the snap? [editline]28th April 2015[/editline] [t]http://i.imgur.com/Gn3frZS.gif[/t] Maybe? Nah, still looks weird.
that's much better, although i think you could shorten the timing on the snap to really make it chomp
