I wasn't happy with how he gave you that criticism but now you're shitposting and derailing the thread for the thousandth time

Experimenting with Krita
Textured brushes and low opacity are the enemy at this stage.
Hard edged solid brushes at high opacity = good. Also draw from life.

What was the name of the statue you based this off?
It's a part of Tomb of Lorenzo de' Medici, apparently.
I am giving you advice, I don't know why you are making excuses. Just because you had a limited selection doesn't mean that you made the right choice. I googled the Flat Colors UI thing and I don't see white on there, yet you used it in your piece. There is a light shade of grey I can see that you could use instead of the one you have now. Perhaps you could try that? Or since you are able to use white, you could use that too.
How I didn't see that light shade of grey? Sorry, I feel retarded now

Based on recent event.

As a antisocial person I don't go out much. But apparently 'going out' nowadays mean to gather to look at your mobile phones. The more you know.

it looks better, but I think it would benefit the picture if you took what you did with the colors of the actor's names and used that with the rest of the text and the marvel box that just blends into the red side.. Red on yellow and vice versa. But first, it'd be better if you had the "who's side are you on" a little more centered. Or just shift it to the right a bit.

I should practice fundamentals now.
WDAS has openings for the TDP Visual Development and I'm gonna apply. Gotta do them material studies with the cubes and amp up my portfolio and such. Anyone else up for applying?

well wdas according to google is some radio station and TDP is apparently thermal design power, so perhaps you could actually use words and maybe I would know what you are talking about
I've always wanted to learn to draw but I never took the the time to practise. I've always just thrown myself into drawing, and ended up frustrated when my idea didn't turn out how I wanted. But recently I read some good tutorials to help me get to grips with the simple act of holding a pencil and drawing, and from there I've been trying some basic 3D shapes and shading, seen here:

I've also sketched a coffee mug which I'd like to share, but the shading on it is so light that the picture is barely visible after its been scanned.
you have a pretty good sense of perspective and shading, but right now you're just drawing shapes so there's not much to do. Draw some buildings and stuff. Use those shapes as a basis as for how they're gonna be shaped and constructed. if you're making them realistic, it'd also be good to study up on some architecture.
Thanks. I've been tooling around with 3D modelling software and Hammer for years, so I'm not coming at this completely blind. I'll definitely try something real next.

If? You always want to be drawing from life at the start, aiming to make it look realistic - my metric is that if the thumbnail can be mistaken for a photo, you've done a good job.
Draw hundreds of pictures from life / photo, even if you aren't interested in realistic drawing. Nobody can hope to get exactly what is in their minds eye into a picture if they can't produce a convincing copy of a real thing right in front of their eyes, it doesn't matter whether you are imagining something real or not. If you can't produce a realistic copy of something right in front of you, even your "stylised" drawings that aren't going for realism aren't a true representation of what was in your head, they are an amalgamation of imagination and a skill deficit.
If you skip this step then you could draw for a decade and make no improvements at all.
Yeah that's true. I was self taught though so my advice on more realistic stuff is gonna be questionable to say the least.
Tips on using Wacom tablet? I have SketchBook as my software, should I look into something better?

Ha-ha whoops I guess my search results are honed around my animation searches :V WDAS is Walt Disney animation studios and TDP is the talent development program. So much for saving time with abbreviations.

Do you have more info about this? It sounds neat. My goal has personally always been to try for Dreamworks but I'm curious anyway.
The talent development program is like a late internship from Disney. You have to have been enrolled in a college/uni in the last 3 years, but it's paid and sets you up for a position better than most internships. Here's the site.

Dang, you have to already be in California.
Cool though. I'll hold onto this.
They open up positions like these during the major production period of their next film. You don't do development for the film per say, but you're at the studio at the time. This one would be Zootipia. Bring on the fur :V

I think you can get SAI as a trial. Seems like a decent program to start to me but I'm too used to adobe hotkeys to give it a try anyway.

I don't recommend drawing each strand of hair like that.
Stop petting your lines.
But I think for this one you are aiming for this "creepy" look, so it's find, I guess?

Nah, you can draw creepy shit without resorting to the easy creepy child's drawing tactic
