That looks awesome, but I think it will be very susceptible to rust, the edges most of all. I know with high carbon steel you can put it in vinegar to form a black patina to hold back rust, on googling it looks as if you can't do that with plain old iron but apparently you can heat it up in oil or something to produce a similar effect (google it)

I'm very well aware that it might rust, this one is more of a test to make sure it works before I make more to sell, and I'm very happy with how it functions.

Think of art life like an RPG. You could invest all your skill points into one area, the space/plane skilltree, or you could try to balance it out a little more. While it's certainly fun to keep using the skill tree you're best at, sooner or later you'll find "oh shit for this dungeon I have to paint a horse fuck fuck fuck" and realize you never put a single skill point into painting horses.
Whoa Boone! I never knew you had such a rad style, I love it

She will be reading a book,w hen I give her a book...
kind of strange to hold a book up like that, unless she's resting her arms on the rail. and it doesn't look like that right now
kind of strange to hold a book up like that, unless she's resting her arms on the rail. and it doesn't look like that right now
That's the reason why she isn't holding one now :(
I can't get it fking right...
unfortunately, currently the entire posture is just wrong for book reading. if she was standing up straight and reading, she would have to look down at the book, with her arms by her side
if she was leaning on the rail, she would have to be more slouched over
Aside from her arms her posture makes me think she's holding a baby or a similar object.

don't tell Brad Neely that I'm appropriating his style...
I think I solved the problem!

Still adding bits and pieces.
this is a play that i've been working on for a few hours now, inspiration struck
about a lonely woman who tries to connect with people she doesn't share a language with
if you speak any of the languages you'll read in this, just know i'll be correcting all the errors after i'm finished, there are probably still a bunch in there

or rather, getting the errors corrected for me

Settled with birds intead.
I wanted to fill the screen with closer birds, but I got tired after 3, lol
P.S. there's a pidgey.
Her left arm is a bit too big and the overall perspective of the balcony is very weird..
Nice shading and colors though.
The wall coming towards us is the part of the balcony that screws it. The angle it has is different to the angle between the bit that she's leaning on and the bit with the birds on which makes it look like its sloping downwards or something. It's kind of like the whole side of the balcony that is closest to us has been bent downwards.
the background and foreground seem to be in different perspectives. For the foreground to fit the background perspective, the balcony would have to be something more like this, i think

and for the background to fit the foreground perspective, you'd have to make it from a more top-down perspective and raise the horizon line a lot. Something like this

i know my examples aren't perfect but hopefully they get my point across
what is seen cannot be unseen...
I did some perspective fixes..

The perspective overall in that piece looks like it could be really tricky with those rails. Other than perspective I might nit-pick about the arm posture with the newly oriented railings.

that's way better
Hey guys quick question if you dont mind me asking.
Will it make me a effectively better artist to learn anatomy, as so I can apply it to cartoon drawing?
Don't really have any real knowledge or education in art, so I'm having a hard time wrapping my head around the torso piece because I feel like that part is just constant a hit or miss when I draw it. And I then up with myself saying "yea that sorta looks okay".

Absolutely. Anatomy and study of the human figure will help you no matter what you're doing.
Anatomy is the basis to any figure drawing, regardless of style. It's important to know the specifics of the body before you start tuning it to fit your method of drawing.
Some stuff
