Very awesome.
There are exercises you can do and also intricate things relating to technique but I think what you should do to begin with is use paper instead of a tablet
I can draw on paper fine so at least I know what the problem is
Are you using a desktop or display tablet? if it's a desktop then that would explain it, on paper you can relate your drawing tool to your surface with your eye and make paths from one point to another more easily

Great as usual, the legs are a let down though, they don't live up to the rest of it in pose and rendition. they look a bit lazy and silly
My friend wanted me to draw a bunch of my characters in the Ginyu Force pose.
I made the foolish decision of going along with it.

how big is your tablet? If you put a physical ruler on there and draw along it, is it still wobbly?

I have a 13hd haha. Yeah using a ruler its fine I think Photoshop is just not the best for making lineart - Im giving clip studio a go and having much more success. Being picky is not the best

Hey guys, I notice that the Cintiq 12ux sells for relatively cheap on ebay. Is it worth the $300~ or is the difference so drastic that I should just pony up the extra couple hundo for a used 13HD?

It looks like you're a little bit out of your zone doing such a clarified piece which is cool. Detail rendering might be a bit foreign to you but I'd say make another pass on the face, it looks pretty muddy and atmospheric for the proximity - you've done really well on the brain in that respect but that kind of shoots the piece in the foot because it's fighting with the face for importance. It's got more sharpness and contrast and is pretty comparable in size to the face. having something so prominent in the corner is pretty weird as well, you've pushed it tightly into that corner but only cropped it very slightly, like your frame is a suitcase lol. A rethink on the comp would be good. The version maloof quoted is stronger I think, more focused on what the viewer should focus on. I would still put more work into the face though, more darks and points of light (the eyes especially, they're huge and would require a lot of moisture film to keep clean, any local light bouncing onto them will -ping- back off, you have a really wet spherical surface there make use of it). Your facial modelling is pretty good as a base now, my only worry is the way the head ends over the top is not really receding, looks quite flat - what you've done with the light on the corners makes this cut-out effect worse. I would probably strengthen the bg silhouettes as well, again you've set yourself up with something really nice and then not delivered - since we can't make out what's back there you can play it entirely for the comp design, to set off the fg to best effect. it looks flat and uncertain atm
finally finished my diving knife today..

Hello, I'm gonna be going into architecture first year this september and was wondering if any architect students left from the long dead architecture discussion thread, are there any tips i should know? And for a relatively new artist, how do you (experienced) artist usually practice art? All i do to practice is drawing nude figures in graphite. (use colored pencil the least since its so frustrating for me)
Sorry for the long question

(Imo) only a few hundred diff is wayyyy worth it for a 13HD over a 12ux
