Is anyone in Dublin? Also taking art classes? I want to pick up some art courses somewhere, maybe sign up something in Trinity College, but I don't know what to sign up for... I also work full time from Monday-Friday, so I will probably need some night time classes or weekend classes.
I made a new logo for a group:
some random shit I drew [t]http://orig11.deviantart.net/3e02/f/2015/216/4/9/evil_knight_by_jcas101-d944xq2.jpg[/t] [t]http://orig08.deviantart.net/f14a/f/2015/216/6/0/greek_warrior_by_jcas101-d944xze.jpg[/t] [t]http://orig00.deviantart.net/b99f/f/2015/245/5/7/batman_vs_bane_by_jcas101-d983gpm.jpg[/t] [t]http://orig01.deviantart.net/cc0f/f/2015/216/a/c/rhino_man_by_jcas101-d944xu9.jpg[/t] [t]http://img07.deviantart.net/3400/i/2015/229/a/f/bull_with_mace_by_jcas101-d95d1l6.jpg[/t]
A short film I finished for this quarter (with last minute music). I'm not crazy about it, but I definitely learned a lot and I'm already working on another film.
heyo I posted this a week ago and I'd love some feedback...
heyo I posted this a week ago and I'd love some feedback...
Oh hey I missed this I like it, some of the movement feels slightly awkward though. And the way the shot at 0:11 is much paler than the preceding ones felt a bit distracting. And I know the audio probably wasn't an important part of your project at all but the transitions in there sound super awkward I didn't really get what happened at the end but maybe that's part of it, having it be a bit open for interpretation. The big difference between the line thickness of the characters during some of the "fight" was kinda distracting, since it wasn't a consistent thing I like the poses and character design though, and how expressive it is. And the jumping looks really good but you probably already knew that. The way that transition between expressions during the face close-up is way smoother than the other shots feels a bit weird though, like, I get varying between putting stuff on twos and threes but having a shot on ones mixed in kind of really stands out Oh yeah, that reminds me, maybe I should post this here I put a ton of work into making this look like old-ass anime, even painting all the backgrounds in watercolor and doing some of the animation on real cels
you nailed that aesthetic if you haven't been snapped up for a company yet, they're missing out on the other hand, it would be a shame to lose that fun to the corporate machine
That opening sequence really hit most of the typical anime cliches. :v:

Don't see it working in black and white. The logo itself is just a swooshy circle around some type, without any knowledge about the brand then I can't say much beyond it gives me the feeling that it is a paint company or something. Also gradients aren't really great in logo design imo. But really it is just a swooshy circle around some type, can't really say that it's great as a logo. I've often been told to design a logo to work in black and white before expanding into color. If it works in black and white then it is probably a good logo.
I would also like some C&C on my podcast.

[editline]8th September 2015[/editline] C&C wise I'll listen to them again to get a better (and fresher) view, but one thing that stuck with me was that the woman busting in on the radio and claiming to know stuff about the darkness felt a little heavy-handed. It was a bit strange that a person would just show up and be like 'sup, I know some things but I won't tell you bye!' In writing I'm a big fan recently of keeping the mysteries on the sidelines and bringing them out a little bit at a time, looking at them sideways rather than making them these big overt shrouded objects to suddenly reveal all at once. I feel like LOST kept our interest while all the mysteries were still mysteries, and explaining them destroyed some of the magic. It could be a matter of personal taste, though.

And while I see what you're saying, I also did that on purpose. It's going to be revealed that she doesn't know everything. And what she does know will only lead to more mysteries, only some of which will be tied up in the season finale . I had Her burst in to cause shock and interest, and will trickle the truth and mystery from here out, and her having to leave (while yes a little heavy handed and cliched haha) does also have a reason which will be explained later. Listen again, because I have released another episode since I last posted. You'll see that I'm not pouring all the mystery and answers too soon! (at least I'm trying not too)
a small strip from my sketchbook: kinda wish I had a better way to organize it rather than just saving everything into a really really big flash doc ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
if you're sketching using flash, then using a normal size and just making a new blank keyframe for each drawing works alright then again, why would you sketch using flash
if you're sketching using flash, then using a normal size and just making a new blank keyframe for each drawing works alright then again, why would you sketch using flash
I can only really draw with a mouse in either flash or mspaint, and I cant really bust out a tablet during a boring class or whatever so I end up using flash a lot

No offence (I mean literally), why is it a circle for something that's related to music? Supposed to have everything and the circle is going full circle? showing music as an image is hard, logos are hard, both sound hard as well.
snip, nevermind
I was inspired by Binding of Isaac. It's a little...worm...knit thing
well to be honest, it's not a direct reference to the music (it is a choir) but it's based on the enso symbol [editline]9th September 2015[/editline] and it's pretty
Okay that makes for sense because the enso (at least what wiki says), is something about opening your mind to creativity and the twelve tone system has some basis in breaking the rules.
idk I think this works
The positioning of the text is problematic in that the logo is now very top-heavy with that negative space in the lower half of the circle. Negative space is important, but I feel like it needs something in there to balance the image vertically. I also feel like the text could use some work. Simply having it on two lines doesn't do it for me. Linking the lines together so that there's some interaction between them could be interesting. I think the issue is that there's a circle, which is inherently evenly balanced and then the text which, if you see the characters as blocks of solid mass, doesn't fill the space in a symmetrical way and so there's dissonance there. For instance, if you took that 'Twelve' and shifted it down so that if was in the gap around the capital 'T' and lower case 'ones' I think that would be a step in the right direction.
idk I think this works
By "Works" I mean it still stands as a logo that represents what it is a logo for. I can't at all tell what twelve tones is by lookin at the logo [editline]8th September 2015[/editline] never heard of this enso symbol before, seems interesting, but still from the name and the colorfulness of the logo, and the fact that it is a brushstroke it seems like a paint company, or a printer ink company or something like that. But someone mentioned music? I don't get music from that. There's also the fact that tone can be seen as either musical, or having to do with color, and since the logo is already colorful, has a brushstroke, and has tone in the text, it seems like a paint company. I suppose in context (Like on a brochure describing the band) it would work, but I guess it depends on if you want it to work without context
Should I buy Matt Kohr's video course on digital painting? also 1st render using Photoshop and a tablet. [t]http://i.imgur.com/0zGCWnp.jpg[/t]
