What's your favorite Primus song?
Mine would have to be "To Defy The Laws of Tradition".
The intro is amazing.
The Heckler
awesome lyrics
I'd say Over The Electric Grapevine.
The drum fill in it is just too much of an eargasm.
I loved Tommy the Cat. Am I alone?
fricking screaming and cat shit everywhere.
Fuckin' love that song, especially the Tom Waits-esque vocals
Never seen a band that sucks this hard
Have any of you checked out the free EP on their site?

It is Tom Waits performing in that song (as 'Tommy the Cat'). They've collaborated numerous times, it's awesome.
Favorite song: Lacquer Head

I wonder what Metallica would be like now if Les Claypool had joined them. He auditioned, in case you didn't know.

More groovy

They probably didn't want him since he would steal the show. :v:
To anyone that has seen Primus live: are their live shows any good?
I might see them in May.
^Saw them last year and they were really great. Played great and had a great set that went across all their albums and not just the hits (not that those weren't present either, though), Les was a riot, and the show overall had a very cheerful and fun atmosphere that was really enjoyable. I'd definitely go for it.
Damn, I should check up on the dates again. It'd be awesome to see them again, but last time I checked there weren't any dates near me.

Is it? I always thought it was Claypool doing an impersonation.
Also Pork Soda is my favorite album of theirs. I just love the goofy nature of it, not to mention it is slick sounding. DMV is still an amazing song in my opinion.

The singing doesn't sound a lot like the studio. I think it actually was Tom Waits.
Funny how none of you realize that the "Primus sucks" is old and they wish it wouldn't be used anymore.

nobody cares though

I knew that but you have to admit that it's catchy.

"Oh my god, it's Primus!"
This should be their new catchphrase.

I can picture an old guy sitting in front of his TV watching letterman then out comes primus wearing penguin fatsuits singing about someones beaver.
"What the fuck"
They turned the bass down too low, it makes the guitar part sound weird and out of place.

I saw Primus at Lollapalooza '93. They were fucking awesome.
Enjoyed that whole show very much. Highlights were Primus, discovering Tool, the Genitorturers show and Alice in Chains.
Primus sucks!

I saw Les Claypool a few years ago live. I got my picture with him :smug:
primus sucks in all the right ways

I'll be listening to when I'm done listening to Worship Music.
I think the new album is pretty awesome.
I enjoyed the new album, but i'm not a fan of that growly, talking thing Les does on most songs on it
Holy shit, I didn't even know that they were back together
I love Primus but they're not that weird really, they're pretty typical for thrash funk. The only thing that makes them weird for thrash funk is their mainstream success.
If you like Primus, some other bands you might like are Infectious Grooves, Mr. Bungle, Nuclear Rabbit, Trapeze, Mother's Finest, Gargamel!, Electric Love Hogs, and Mordred
Some albums you'll like from bands you probably dislike are Lemonade and Brownies from Sugar Ray, Mate. Feed. Kill. Repeat. by Slipknot, and Yellow by Zebrahead

I didn't like the new album at all by the way. It's good, but it's not Primus. Everything sounds more like C2B3 or something
