Your mum.
i remember a dream i had when i was twelve me and my best freind had a sleepover we spent a long time playin video games then in my last second of consisness i turned of the tv and playstation then somehow me and my freind linked minds and we had an awsome dream that way rllly cool im not gonna explain it in detail but ill name some important things we both got girlfriends (not suprising given our age) we fought in giant robots most of the time we both got rlly cool artifacts like a gravity swicher and other crazy shit there was a reacurring villan and in the end we won i also heard some dreams (if you are kinda special) can predict the future, no kidding both of my parents were mildly phyionic (thats nerd for somone who can do weird things with their mind) i am too i once predicted what i got for my birthday when i was five [editline]04:49AM[/editline]
I have had a few lucid dreams before, never been able to turn it on at will but I learned how to wake myself up anytime i want. Also am I the only one who loves nightmares? I mean, they are fun as fuck. Also for those of you saying your dreams went for 4 hours or so real-time, you only dream for 7 seconds or less, it just feels like ages.
no you are not the only one who likes nightmares caus I CONTROL THIS WORLD B*TCH i simply summun a gun and bam kills evrything
Well Last night I had a dream and some guy was riding a T-res, had never seen him before, then I walked down the street. No memory from then on. Also Had a dream not long ago and was In th ezone (Stalker game setting) but I was on a bycycle. [editline]02:17AM[/editline] Oh and I get fucked by Randoms I've never seen before [editline]02:17AM[/editline] Not in that dream though. and They are female.
the thing that confuses me is when the characters in my dreams take advantage of my shortcomings. or when characters in my dreams teach me something. i obviously already knew it. so when, why i was dreaming, did i appear not to know it, only in order to teach it to myself. it's all internal anyway.
Here's a philosophical discussion topic. Who are the people in your dreams? I'm referring to the people that don't have any connection to anyone you know in your waking life. In my dreams, everyone has their own distinct personality. Their personality may or may not be similar to mine. Some clash in everything I believe in, while some are essentially another me. What gets me is they seem sentient. They think for themselves, and make decisions based on the world around them. I see it happening. I want to know who these people are. Are they alive? What happens to them when you wake up? It's disconcerting to think that they cease to exist when you awake. They had a life of their own. It's almost like it's not fair. The other question is how does our brain do this? How is our brain able to create so many different "complete" minds and keep track of them all as they were individuals?
Pretty interesting topic. I had a think about it whilst writing this up, personally I'm not convinced that the people you interact with whilst dreaming are discrete, sentient entities in their own right. In the same way that a fictional character in literature imitates how a real person would react to their environment, I reckon people in your dreams are convincing emulations that follow subtle and complex behavioral rules derived from your own understanding of human behavior, a concept which you subconciously develop during your waking interaction/observation with/of other people. Fictional characters behave like they do because they are the calculated product of a mind which understands the human thought-process; they are ideas, projections rather than entities that can think for themselves. When you dream, many of these 'projected' people may appear to behave in ways that are surprising or unexpected because the process of maintaining the illusion of intelligent behaviour is largely below the threshold of concious awareness. TL;DR? All of us have a fundamental and extensive understanding of how humans behave through experience, and we apply this subconciously when we dream about other people. Admittedly it's not a particularly strong arguement because it faffs around with the issue of subconcious thought and is therefore notoriously difficult to prove either way, but it seemed like a fairly reasonable point of view at the time of writing. /2cents
Isn't it strange how in dreams you know exactly another persons personality without talking to them? (assuming that the person is a character you have not met)
My grandmother died recently, and for a week or so, I had dreams about her, yet here's the catch; instead of a Ukrainian accent, she had an Australian accent. And in every one of them, this same Sudanese fellow who I was apparently mates with decided to rock up at my house and chill with my grandma. Go figure. :geno:
We only use like 10% of our brains or something.
- At any given time. That's the part that you dummies often forget to include. If we used 100% all the time, our brains would fry.
I recently had a really strange dream.. The people involved were: Patamon and Tailmon beginning to screw each other, Pocahontas blowing Heavy Weapon Guy, and a HUGE George Washington wanking on the side! Something like this:
- At any given time. That's the part that you dummies often forget to include. If we used 100% all the time, our brains would fry.
We do actually have a term for excessive activity in the brain. It's called having a fucking seizure.
:suicide: What. Actually almost like that, 'cept the heads are shaped a bit like pick-axes.
they are coming

Holy shit I know someone that looks like that and he gets all the ladies.
As the great Wilson from home improvement once said "Tim my greatest fear is that reality as I know it is the dream of someone else, for when the dreamer awakes. I will no longer exist" I also like to remember what Tim said back... "You might want to keep that to yourself Wilson"
They're just figments of your imagination, albeit being very intelligent.. You'd be extremely surprised at what is capable in your dreams. The brain is an astonishing tool. Check out this site and read around a bit, they have tons of information about dreams and lucid dreaming.
Dude I do that shit all the time.

Just recently, the past week or so, my dreams have been extremely vivid and realistic. For example, handing in a paper at school or eating dinner. Just two nights ago i had a dream my mom was waking me up and then i woke up, looked at my clock and it was 4 in the morning. On these days i go through the day not completely sure if i am in reality or things are just a dream. Now during writing this I've been losing liters of blood from my one finger. So i apologize, for some things may not make much sense because of my dizziness. Also first post with this new account, look at me i'm a 10'er! Oh wait, that sounds terrible with no 'Oh' sound in front of a number.. Like 09 or 08 [editline]08:01PM[/editline] Also i have had extremely good weed recently.. which probably explains everything.
Also am I the only one who loves nightmares? I mean, they are fun as fuck. .
No, I like em too! You get to do some action-movie stuff, get killed/maimed, and have NO consequences! It's like a living horror movie! :D Only had a few lucid dreams. They're like a real life garrysmod! Only thing is, I 'spawned' a tank. At that time, I had no knowledge of what tanks look like inside. Needless to say, The tank was empty - no controls. There were zombies in my house for whatever reason. Oddly, they were quake 1 zombies. Another dream, I spawned a 'magic pencil' in my excitement of realizing it was a dream. It was the first thing that came to mind, as my dream was set in my elementary school. The last dream I had like this was about 7 years ago. D: I hardly ever dream anymore. Perhaps like 2 times a month - if I'm lucky D: D:
