[sp]So is there a WWI world in Brotherhood?[/sp]
Nope, but I wish there was
Major Armstrong.
yeah woops Also watched the first 18 episodes of the remake, how much am I actually missing if I've not seen much of the original? I've only seen the first 6 episodes of the original and discs 5 and 8 (you have to get them all separately) which are 17-20 and 29-32. My brother's seen it all so he's filled me in, but should I watch the original first? Does it really matter? Also is Brotherhood the remake or like a sequel
Well, first off I personally love brotherhood. I cried manly tears and sparkles on multiple occasions during its course. As for those hating on the first series, I have some friends down at Funimation(one of which is the brand manager for FMA), and have even had the chance to sit down and talk to the Executive Producer of Square Enix about the shows. The story line of the original (While still inferior in my book) was fully endorsed and 100% approved by the creator of the Manga. Oh and I saw someone say they were waiting for dubs in this thread... English voice actors do not do Bradley/Grumman justice! English Bradley isn't as fun sounding when hes not angry... and he's not as epic sounding when he's mad. And Grumman just sounds like he has autism.

One of the only 2 anime's I like, goes with Cowboy Bebop

I only like the parts with the Military to be honest. They're much more exciting and interesting that the alchemy stuff but that's entirely my opinion because I'm an Armchair General.
Nope, but I wish there was
Well fuck that that's the only thing I liked about it.
brotherhoode is a remake but instead of veering off into fantasy land it follows the manga so it sucks less
This, essentially. One thing that bugged me with it is how [sp]most of the homunculi whined about "just wanting friends" as they were dying[/sp], that was kind of ridiculous.
go to animefreak.tv and you can watch many animes including the ENTIRE existence of FMA. including Brotherhood and others. Your welcome.
Brotherhood is much better than the first series, IMO.
This. I've been catching it on and off on Adult Swim. The new series seems epic as hell.
I've been watching the older series, haven't gotten around to watching the new one yet. Still think the manga is better than both.
I watched all of the 2003 in a 3 days. Shit was great, but it started to have some plotholes and pacing issues in the final episodes. But still and incredible stroyline. Unfortuantely as a freeview user in the UK I don't get CN, but I am getting the Eclipse Productions of Brotherhood currantly. My awesome physics teacher has read the origianl and watched both, and prefers Brotherhood. He reccomended Eclipse Productions.

They all died by their sins.
Pretty sure the kid did it.
Pretty sure the kid did it.
The kid didn't even die
Brotherhood is a stand alone series. It sticks more true to the manga so it actually has a really well thought out plot. It's awesome.
So anything that isn't based on manga or some form of book sucks because it can't possibly have a chance of being thought out?
brotherhoode is a remake but instead of veering off into fantasy land it follows the manga so it sucks less
Instead of veering off into fantasy land? Its an anime, it is set in a fictional universe with what is essentially magic, that is fantasy.
So anything that isn't based on manga or some form of book sucks because it can't possibly have a chance of being thought out?
no, it just sucks more
Instead of veering off into fantasy land?
The kid didn't even die
Close enough.
Instead of veering off into fantasy land? Its an anime, it is set in a fictional universe with what is essentially magic, that is fantasy.
Suddenly introducing an ALTERNATE DIMENSION set in pre-WW2 Germany is not very coherent in the FMA universe.
Good job reading the thread
I don't know how I missed that.
Pretty sure the kid did it.
Pride? [sp]He was an odd one because he was born a fetus and then raised as a child by Bradley and his wife. He was the only one that actually experienced a family so he did have second thoughts right before he died(reverted to fetal state), but all you really saw was him having flashbacks about his mom and dad. [/sp]
[sp]I thought Pride was the first Homonculus, who stayed in the appearance of the same little boy for like, over a thousand years, and was planned to pose as Bradley's son by Father or something. [/sp] The rest sounds about right though.
This is the only anime I like.
You can legally watch it here: SUB: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iMw9OdKv-uY&feature=channel DUB: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O8mMmZ_Zaqo&feature=related (Funimation channel for North Americans)

[sp]But he lived with Bradley's wife/mother so he sort of felt some sympathy for her and actually enjoyed living with a family, so I guess he sort of had some regrets before he died.[/sp]
