I disagree. I think that the unplugged version by Alice in Chains themselves was better. This youtube video doesn't do it justice whatsoever. The sound falls flat compared to what it sounds like on the CD.

Honestly, Nine Inch Nails is my Favorite band, and Johnny Cash is my favorite Solo Artist, so this is a really hard subject for me. I guess they both have their own feeling and meaning to it. Trent's rendition is more of a recovering drug addict feel, while Johnnies is more of a solemn goodbye.

I think this song is a good example of a good cover. In order to be a good cover I have to actually believe that the artist covering it has some of the same feelings as the man who first sang and wrote it. Some covers come out too goofy for them to even be considered next to the original.
