Deutschland im Jahre Null, a movie made in 1947 depicting the events after the war in Berlin.
Der rote Kakadu, DDR time movie.
Napola, about an elite Nazi school.
Fickende Fishe, a movie about a dude with aids.
A few popular ones I enjoyed were Metropolis, Jenseits der Stille, Der Vorleser, Der Untergand and Das Boot. I didn't really care much for Lola Rennt, and I found The Edukators terrible.
Nation's Pride
I want to learn German, just to watch German movies, I feel like I'm missing out on a whole other Hollywood. I guess I could read subtitles. meh. From my experience with foreign films, Germany has the best.
Die Welle.
American History X
Okay not really german but it's about nazis.. still a good movie. Everyone learns something in the end :) (don't watch if you don't like blood or racism, even though the racism teaches you a valuable lesson in the movie).
I've lately developed a thing for German movies - so far I've watched Der Untergang, Das Boot, The McKenzie Break (some German scenes) and Stalingrad. Yes, these all happen to be WWII movies but I'm interested in anything you can suggest. :v:
I was going to say Der untergang but you've seen that. Good movie.
Somebody surely could if there is some.
Run Lola Run?
Also, The Edukators and Goodbye Lenin.

It is not about nazis. It is about Neo-Nazis. Slightly different thing. White Supremacists have existed before the Nazis.
DO see:

Das Boot

Das Leben die Anderen

Der Untergang

I know you have already seen two of these, but I will still mention them because they are really good.

DO NOT see:

Die Blecktrommel

Goodbye, Lenin

Lola Rennt

Sophie Scholl
Disturbing, whatever, crap, zzz. Many people seem to recommend these. I say "Stay away!". They all suck.

NOT SURE if see:

Das Cabinet des Dr. Caligari

Metropolis

Nosferatu, eine Symphonie des Grauens
These are classics, but they are all silent movies. See them if you think you can stand it. Hardly worthwhile if that stuff ain't your thing though. Or you could just force your way through them for cultural benefits.

I've seen alot of German movies, but my head is really blank at the moment.
Goodbye Lenin and Lola Rennt were both good movies, what the hell are you talking about?
Der Baader Meinhof Komplex, it's the only German movie I can recall, and I highly recommend it.
I really want to see The Downfall (Der Untergang) though, it looks great.
Got to be Die Welle
Das Schulgespenst.
I'd just like to state, I just watched Das Leben der Anderen.
It wasn't gripping me for the first 30 minutes, but, towards the end, I felt like crying.
I'm seriously shaken up by how good it was.
Also, RIP Ulrich Mühe, because you're one amazing actor.
I enjoyed "Goodbye, Lenin" :(
Das Wunder von Bern is pretty good. Funny and interesting story.
Downfall, Goodbye Lenin and The Baader-Meinhof Complex.
All great films.

Do not ask me any more questions please. I think there are a few exceptions.
Stalingrad?
My brain pattern set does not have a response for that.
