Found a vintage lens (I think)- need help identifying

Haha wow, talk about a thread revival! Yeah I haven't found any place here that sells an adapter for the nikon to m42 mount, but my lecturer tried it on his Spotmatic but the lens was too small to fit onto the Spotmatic's mount, so I'm not sure where to carry on from here. I am still looking little by little to see where I can find the adapter and also try to classify the mount itself.
I feel like shit not producing results for you guys. But when I do, I will post 'em here! :D

Isn't that what you're after?
It's a screw mount, not sure what camera it would fit into.
Fuck. The adapters for EOS cams come by the dozen.
I've just done more research on the mount and apparently it's either an M39 or Pentacon 6 mount. Both of which I could find an adapter for a Nikon F-mount.
If its a screw mount it might be M39 then if it has metal "bayonets" it is Pentacon 6 mount
Yeah. I'm pretty sure it's the M39 mount now. Thanks communistcat! :)
So I was right after all
Looks like it! Thanks frag! :)
Yeah it's without a doubt a visoflex you can tell by the huge tube it has next to it. Visoflex was pretty much the least standardized system ever, and pretty much every lens came with its own adapter.
Either that or it's a lens for ketchup
Quick Update:
My lecturer has a camera that fits the lens, so I'm gonna take it with me to college tomorrow and see what goes on.
Bad news, the lens mount was too small for the camera. So I gave it to him, he said he'll check what cameras it'll fit, so yeah.
it's visoflex
Alright, I'll see if he has a visoflex mount camera. Thanks Trogdon :)

Wait, does this mean that it's worth a bit more than I thought?
i don't know if anyone still has visoflex, it was a pretty failed format.
so no to your latter question as well.
Ah okay, well I'm still going to try get this thing on a body!
What would the Mount to film distance be on a Visoflex?

I read on wikipedia it has a 68.8 mm distance so what you could do is get a m42 to m39 adapter and then use extension tubes to make up the distance of 23.42 mm I think getting it to 23mm would work fine.
