Lol, but IMAX 3D is some pretty cool shit (albeit steep as hell). You ever been to one?
Fucking annoying when films are made in 3D and there's NO FUCKING DIFFERENCE
Fx. Alice in Wonderland. Saw it in 3D at the movies, decent film, saw it again at home not in 3D, the only difference: I didn't have stupid looking glasses on my face.
I personally had a rant on this topic a couple of weeks ago. I see 3D as a stupid gimmick for producers to make more money. It may also work as a counter-pirating solution as it is kinda hard to download polarised glasses.
Still, the whole 3D boom is a waste of time.
Spiderman reboot? Wat? Not that the Spiderman movies were that great, but they seem new and visually spectacular enough that they don't require a reboot. I mean, usually reboot is something done for an old movie that could use some updated special effects.
3D is the new HD in my opinion. I hope that at some point technology will be developed so we can see stuff in 3D without the stupid glasses. As if the price for a 3D cinema ticket wasn't bad enough, I have to wear 3D glasses over my actual glasses.
WAIT....
TRON:Legacy
WILL BE IN 3D?
Heck to the yes.
3D is a shallow veil which means films are slowly becoming more under-developed.
You can notice this with Avatar. People leave an IMAX cinema after watching the most expensive film ever made, and believe it to be a triumph, the best film ever made.
Now watch it on DVD. That's a lot of money to remake Pocahontas!
3D is advancing film technology at lighting speeds never seen before... in the wrong direction.
Honestly the 3D in Avatar was uncomfortable to watch. The film looks like something is really far away/close up, but really you have to focus on the screen to see it clearly. And the image is really dull, a normal film looks much brighter.
I'd much rather they stop their bullshit and start making films in 70mm again. Maybe even with a higher framerate because 24fps is getting oooolld.
I hope you are joking about this.
If you filmed movies at a higher frame rate, they would look like soap operas or a low budget movie.
I can't stand movies that seem to move to smoothly.
At first that's what it reminds you of, but in the end, you're still watching a movie, except now it's smooth as silk and much more comfortable to watch. I would watch all my movies with motion interpolation if it wasn't for those darn artefacts.
I don't give two shits about so called "cinematic look". Framerate has nothing to do with that.
Argument is as old and trite and nonsensical as the framerate it defends.
I actually don't hate the Stereoscopic 3D glasses, I've taken to wearing them like Ray Ban sunglasses (yes, I know they don't work against sunlight)
Last good 3D thing I saw was:

:buddy:
I saw A Christmas Carol in 3D. Almost puked.
"3D" is a gimmick.
My eyes don't hurt from watching 3d movies with glasses, but the glasses are always fucking huge, and I have a rather big head, so what the fuck.

yeah if you're an anti-3D little fuck

Thanks for bringing the touch of class this thread deserved. Please repect other people's opinions.
I agree with him. 3D is the same as motion-control on the Wii. It won't be raved about as much soon.
3D?
the effect sometimes works REALLY well, but the problem is the 3D glasses, they fuck up the damn color!

The monochromatic polarised glasses that are used now don't screw up colour like the old anaglyph red/blue glasses.
It seems that developers are more keen on working on the 3D instead of the actual story and plot of the movie.
but it's only really been good for a short while.
So, you mean seeing the same 3D effects I've seen in the old Red/Blue glasses without colour tints is better? Honestly, these 3D films could be produced to actually showcase 3D instead of just having gimmicky "OHHHH LOOK AT THE RAIN IT LOOKS LIKE IT'S OFF THE SCREEN." Get some guy to walk through the audience with the 3D effects, or some thing like the old Disney Honey I Shrunk The Audience film (Which used the same technology we have now in the early 90's.)
For some reason i can't see 3D with Cyan red glasses.
I did see a movie with polarized glasses which kinda worked after a while.
