My school has fair rules and all, but only one teacher let's you get away with it ringing in class.
1st offense: Warning and PARENT must pick it up right after school.
2nd offense: ^ + detention.
3rd offense: ^ + detention.
4rd offense: ^ + detention + expulsion for one semester.
4rd? I think you got a little carried away.
4rd? I think you got a little carried away.
It's what happens when you are sleep deprived. :v:
I'll have to look up the rules but I believe it is
1st time- 15 dollar fee and parents pick it up after school
2nd time- phone is taken for a week and a 30 dollar fee
3rd time- phone is taken for 3 months and a 60 dollar fee
4th time- phone is taken for rest of the year with 60 dollar fee
My school is filled with assholes who text non-stop so it's no wonder why they have strict policies, plus my district is filled with corporate asshats. SUCH IS LIFE IN MIDWEST SUBURBIA
What the flying fuck? You guys have to pay money if you get caught using your phone? The worst thing that can happen to people at my school is a detention, and even then you get your phone back right after. 3/4 of the teachers don't even care, only the stuck up ones do.
1st. Confiscation and retrieve after period ends
2nd. Confiscation and sends to office, retrieve after school
No more then that,
American school's is going to far on the fines and shit
Phone policy varies from teacher to teacher. Some just tell you to put it away or they'll take it from you until the end of class.
my teachers mostly just (if they ever find who owned the phone) take it to the main office, where you can get it after school
buy my physics teacher is boss and he makes you answer it in front of the whole class if you are being super annoying
If your phone gets taken away and you need to pay to get it back, do what this guy did, pay in all pennies.

Since the school has confiscated your phone and you now owe them money to get it back, they've put you into debt towards them. Pennies are legal tender towards any/all debts in America, public or private. Once they take your phone away, they are REQUIRED BY LAW to accept ANYTHING you give them if it's legal tender. I say give them 1,500 UNROLLED pennies.
If you're lucky enough to go to the school where it's 60 dollars, give them 6,000 pennies. :D
In high school teachers would only get angry if they caught you using it. If it just made a noise, they'd ask you to silence it, and the embarrassment was enough. If it kept going off they would just collect it and give it back at the end of class (with a lecture of course).
In uni, professors just ask you to put it away, and at worst they ask you to leave the class. That's not good because they determine your grade and getting on a professor's "bad list" is grade suicide.

Stamps, pay in stamps. It's also considered legal tender. Alternatively you could just pay up and accept the punishment in place. Yes, it's silly that they would even do that, but if the rule is in place there's no reason to punish the desk clerk with thousands of pennies.
It's suppose to be a write up for a detention, but most teachers don't care and just say to put it away.
1 hour detention, and confiscation, you can pick it up at any time from the principals office.
Most teachers don't mind though, they just tell you to turn it off, that or have it on their desk and give it back at the end of the lesson.
Most teachers don't care as long as you don't answer it. Some may tell you to shut it up.
Every so often a teacher might keep it for the rest of class but that's only if you try to answer it or something.
I go to the kind of school where you can listen to your ipod in half the classes and play games on your phone.
$20 recovery fee that the parents have to pay in person, plus 100 lines.

That's if you even have it out.
Officially, if it goes off it is supposed to be taken off of us and we can get it back at the end of the day, but our teachers are fairly nice about it and won't take them most of the time.
A motherfucking recovery fee?
Is your school owned by Activision or something
My school has a pretty good policy.
You can use your phones as much as you please during passing time, before school, lunch, and after school. But if you are caught texting in class then your phones gets taken, and your parents have to get it the next day. You get a detention and the consequences rise each time the phone is taken and sent to the office.
nothing happens
Lol. Recovery fee. That's nothing. You got fined 30-40$ + a week of detention for saying "fuck" at my high school.
1 Tell me to put it away
2 Tell me to put it away
3 No one cares anymore
I've got it good, yes?
They can actually confiscate your phone ? What the hell.
In my school (Russia)
1st time- Holy shit you have a phone!
teacher can confiscate it till the end of the day, although it used to be that they could take it for the remainder of the week but loads of kids were complaining because they couldnt call their parents etc
Solution:
Put your phone in silent mode
OR
Turn your phone off
OR
Don't bring a phone
I go to a college, and instructors HATE phones (at least mine do). However it is pretty easy to have a full-on text conversation without them noticing if you sit in the back of the room. I think it is disrespectful to do that though, and people did pay to be there so I don't see why they would waste it.

At that point can't you just claim you lost the thing and get a replacement on contract?
Our teachers "threaten" taking our phones, but that would be illegal so they just joke with it.
They just tell us to hide it and silence it.
Also, our English teacher, makes me rage sometimes.
Two days ago, her phone went off 7+ times, YES, more than seven times in class did it ring.
Just don't use it in class and no one gives a shit
Phone goes off? "Turn it off please"
Spend the whole class toying with your phone? A big minus in behavior and it gets taken by the teacher for the rest of the class.
Posting this from my phone. SO HARDCORE
Teacher should to this.
:v:
My old W550i got destroyed, fucking dicks next to me kept texting my mobile (how did they know my number?). The teacher simply took my phone and slammed it between the drawers. Christ.
