Just because someone supports a candidate does not make them retarded. Everyone has their opinions.
seriously this a million times its really offensive to imply retarded people like romney. plenty of retarded people are capable of basic logic and reasoning that befalls romney supporters
Just because someone supports a candidate does not make them retarded. Everyone has their opinions.
Yeah, I must agree. This kind of "you're literally retarded if you vote x" attitude is the kind of thing that's fueling the incredibly hostile partisan mood in American politics today.
I'm 19, so I don't know how registration works exactly. I registered as a democrat when I went to vote for local elections, will that registration apply for national elections? Or do I need to do more?
yeah seriously, i'm tired of the abuse level at retarded people on this forum. retarded people didn't choose to be retarded, but romney supporters choose to support romney.
We see factors that make Obama much more preferable over Romney hence the large support for him. What factors do you see in Romney that would make him a better President?
Obama supports the patriot act and stricter gun control and wants to continue raising the debt ceiling. I think Romney might support the patriot act too though. Doesn't matter because Johnson doesn't and that's who I'd actually like to see in office.
Obama supports the patriot act and stricter gun control and wants to continue raising the debt ceiling.
These are a few of the reasons I will be supporting Romney this year.
Obama supports the patriot act and stricter gun control

Governor Romney is a strong supporter of the PATRIOT Act http://www.thepoliticalguide.com/Profiles/Governor/Massachusetts/Mitt_Romney/Views/Homeland_Security/

1. “I don’t line up with the NRA.” 2. “We do have tough gun laws in Massachusetts — I support them. 3. Signed a permanent assault-weapons ban as governor of the Bay State. http://www.politico.com/news/stories/0712/78767.html

Obama supports the patriot act and stricter gun control and wants to continue raising the debt ceiling.
The concept of the "debt ceiling" is completely nonfunctional since politicians can just raise it anyways. I'd bet Romney and the Repubs would end up raising it, too, in the same circumstances. Also, I'm fairly certain Romney also supports the Patriot Act. I don't like how Obama wants stricter gun control, but thankfully (and I'm only really thankful for this for gun control and gun control only) the Repubs currently control the house, so it'd be highly difficult even getting it to his desk. Besides, politicians, even Obama, seem to try to ignore the gun issue since it always seems to become a huge mess. I mean, look at your average Facepunch gun control thread. If you can find any coherence in that, you are a much smarter and perceptive man than I am. Honestly, if any of these issues really bother you, you should probably vote Libertarian or maybe Constitutionalist.
Obama supports the patriot act and stricter gun control and wants to continue raising the debt ceiling.
ah yes romney, a staunch opponent of the patriot act i agree on the guns thing though, i'll never forget the day men in black wearing "yes we can" buttons on their lapelles stormed my front door and stole my gu-- no, no wait.. alright sorry everyone that was actually a dream, it never took place in real life raising the debt ceiling is apalling though, i'll give you that. we need more presidents like ronald reagan, or george bush. someone who refuses to budge on keeping the debt ceiling lo-- hold on. ok i'm being told now that reagan and bush actually did raise the debt ceiling multiple times and so has pretty much everyone else
These are a few of the reasons I will be supporting Romney this year.
I wouldn't be so sure about what Romney will do if he gets into office if I were you.
Obama supports the patriot act and stricter gun control and wants to continue raising the debt ceiling.
Saying that is stating that he has all intentions of raising the nation's debt....which is far from true
d
neglected the second part of my post. The next four years are going to be shit for gun owners and I've accepted that already. Both of the real choices suck and the third parties have absolutely no hope of winning. I'll be voting for Mickey Mouse, and you should too.
either the debt ceiling was raised or the US economy would crash due to the US defaulting on their loans to say that Romney wouldn't raise it is a bigger insult to his intellect than anything else i've ever heard
either the debt ceiling was raised or the US economy would crash due to the US defaulting on their loans to say that Romney wouldn't raise it is a bigger insult to his intellect than anything else i've ever heard
trust me, voting for mickey mouse is much easier
-quotes, citations-
Can't imagine how you could argue that Romney doesn't support the things you claim Obama supports that are causing you to avoid voting for him with this in front of you.
A bit stupid to put it like this. In most cases, ballot access laws and the electoral system we have in place prevent any such third-party candidate from winning a seat in, as you put it, 'any important political position', and thus cannot get political experience at any (even relatively) high level. To make an analogy, it's like requiring work experience to get a job while simultaneously having it be illegal to work if you aren't a Democrat or Republican. You wouldn't blame that person for having no work experience, would you?
Oh yeah, I completely understand how the system is kind of rigged against third parties, and I would love to see third parties become more prominent. I also know that good politicians will simply join the two big parties rather than languish in the third ones. I shall edit the OP
trust me, voting for mickey mouse is much easier
So then what reasons remain to support Romney over Obama, even if just in principle?
Obama supports the patriot act and stricter gun control and wants to continue raising the debt ceiling. I think Romney might support the patriot act too though. Doesn't matter because Johnson doesn't and that's who I'd actually like to see in office.
Yeah, Obama does support the Patriot Act and that sucks. I won't say he doesn't. I don't really get why strict gun control on things like automatic weapons is necessarily a bad thing. I can understand for your basic home defense weapons such as handguns and the like, but automatic weapons make sense. I don't see Obama asking for more than automatic rifles and things that are impractical for defense. Uhm, not raising the debt ceiling would have disastrous effects on the economy. There is really no reason to not raise it that makes any sense. Defaulting would be horrible for an already bad economy. It would just make it even worse.
kman866 you disagreed with my post i'm not quite sure what you're disagreeing with dude
neglected the second part of my post. The next four years are going to be shit for gun owners and I've accepted that already. I'll be voting for Mickey Mouse, and you should too.
ignores the second part of your post you edited in lol like honestly have you ever applied any slight amount of thought (might be asking a lot of you based on some of your other political ideas ("slavery isnt always necessarily abusive" - you actually said this)) to anything you think/say or do you just kinda roll with it and go with whatever candidate you think wont take your guns away (even though they've said things in the past that would definitely suggest anti-gun ideals lmao)
Less bias.
What part of the OP was biased specifically (besides the third party part)? I warned that I could be biased, but tried my best to not make it look like I am a huge flaming Democrat.
ah yes romney, a staunch opponent of the patriot act i agree on the guns thing though, i'll never forget the day men in black wearing "yes we can" buttons on their lapelles stormed my front door and stole my gu-- no, no wait.. alright sorry everyone that was actually a dream, it never took place in real life raising the debt ceiling is apalling though, i'll give you that. we need more presidents like ronald reagan, or george bush. someone who refuses to budge on keeping the debt ceiling lo-- hold on. ok i'm being told now that reagan and bush actually did raise the debt ceiling multiple times and so has pretty much everyone else
http://www.google.com/search?q=katrina+gun+grab and there's a difference between rasing the debt ceiling and raising it by 4 trillion dollars
trust me, voting for mickey mouse is much easier
ah shit someone made a legitimate criticism of my shitty political ideals HAHA MICKEY MOUSE
http://www.google.com/search?q=katrina+gun+grab and there's a difference between rasing the debt ceiling and raising it by 4 trillion dollars
Do you understand what would happen to our economy if we defaulted? Also, wtf does that have to do with Obama????
http://www.google.com/search?q=katrina+gun+grab and there's a difference between rasing the debt ceiling and raising it by 4 trillion dollars
no i mean not really maybe there's like a symbolic difference or something and that "katrina gun grab" is such a loose convoluted story that even if it was true there's no connection of it to the federal government
kman866 you disagreed with my post i'm not quite sure what you're disagreeing with dude
Romney has the backing of the NRA, along with most gun enthusiasts. Messing with second amendment rights is a bad, bad idea. And the amount of money the big O has managed to spend during his term is absolutely in-fucking-sane. Think about it, TRILLIONS. Spending 100$ myself puts a hurt on my wallet, but trillions- that puts a hurting on mine, my kids, and even my grandkids wallets (When I have either of those.) That's not something you can just fix over a generation.
ignores the second part of your post you edited in lol like honestly have you ever applied any slight amount of thought (might be asking a lot of you based on some of your other political ideas ("slavery isnt always necessarily abusive" - you actually said this)) to anything you think/say or do you just kinda roll with it and go with whatever candidate you think wont take your guns away (even though they've said things in the past that would definitely suggest anti-gun ideals lmao)
I don't know why you keep dwelling on the slavery comment (or why you think it's a political idea, for that matter) or why you apparently think I meant that slavery was a-ok when I said it
Fuck both of them. Vote for me. Seriously though, Romney seems like a dick so I'd go with Obama.
http://www.google.com/search?q=katrina+gun+grab and there's a difference between rasing the debt ceiling and raising it by 4 trillion dollars
are you literally stupid go look at your waifu calendar / check wikipedia and remind me who was president during hurricane katrina [editline]9th September 2012[/editline]
I don't know why you keep dwelling on the slavery comment (or why you think it's a political idea, for that matter) or why you apparently think I meant that slavery was a-ok when I said it
im dwelling on it because its a perfect example of you being completely incapable of basic reason or moral values [editline]9th September 2012[/editline] "cmon guys i mean slavery was bad but.. let it go, it wasn't THAT bad.. i mean some of the slaves got to take care of the white children!"
