And even at that they barely do a good job.
It's hard to bring attention to things when you're banned from national debates and arrested.
3 more days until the phone calls stop...
It's hard to bring attention to things when you're banned from national debates and arrested.
It is true that it is dumb that they are not a part of the major debates, but there are ways third party candidates can get into debates if they get enough support, like Ross Perot. Also, she got arrested for legitimate reasons not for being a third party candidate being unjustly oppressed by the duopoly or whatever. She could have just not tried to Occupy the debate.
why the fuck does anyone vote for a third party they won't win
Agree. It make sense if you vote for them in local elections, but on presidential? C'mon. Spoiler effect!

How much air time has Jill Stein got versus Obama?
Also, she got arrested for legitimate reasons not for being a third party candidate being unjustly oppressed by the duopoly or whatever. I think this game is pretty relevant to this thread Liberal Crime Squad http://www.bay12games.com/lcs/

And the commission should have let her in, but the legality of her arrest is not a matter of debate. I would have loved to see her and Gary Johnson debate with the Democrat and Republican, but I cannot dispute the actual arrest.
Ross Perot managed it. So did Nader. If Jill Stein were a better politician, she could have.
So the reason Jill Stein doesn't have a shot at the presidency is simply because she is a shit politician?
It is not just that. We are in a two-party system so any politician that runs as independent or runs through a third party will not win. But there HAVE been third party or independent candidates that have done much better than Jill Stein. Ross Perot got 19% of the popular vote in 1992. Jill Stein will be lucky if she gets more than one percent.

This is really cool: 512 Paths to the White House

5 ties? What happens with a tie again?
House of Representatives casts the winning vote. Since there is a Republican majority in the House at the moment, it would likely mean a Romney victory.
5 ties? What happens with a tie again?
House of Representatives chooses the President Senate chooses the Vice President
Is anyone else worried as hell about 2000 happening again? I know it is paranoid as hell but I can't help but feel that Romney and the Republicans in Ohio and Florida will do what it takes to secure a Romney victory.
If something like that were to happen, Obama would favor from it, not Romney. Obama could lose the popular vote, but still win the electoral college. That said, I don't think Obama will lose either one. The state polls would have to be wrong, something absolutely horrible would have to happen, or people would have to stay home on election day
http://thinkprogress.org/election/2012/11/03/1134981/last-minute-ohio-directive-could-trash-legal-votes-and-swing-the-election/?mobile=nc I know it is biased but, the directive exists. Now the only question is to see how it affects turnout.

Yes, we [always] can!
No. The closer and closer we get to an election, the more and more riled the partisan media gets about the voting process in various states.
I'd like to cast away my doubts with that thought, but voter suppression of Black votes in Florida led to a narrow Bush victory. If Republicans somehow manage to do the same in Ohio, Obama's chances of winning go down to 57% according to 538, and that is assuming Ohio is the only state affected by voter suppression.

saw obama speak yesterday, gonna try to early vote tomorrow
This is really cool: 512 Paths to the White House
If this is accurate (which it most likely is), going off of the current polling numbers by state giving each candidate wins in the states they are comfortably above the margin of error, Obama will win. *Note: This is just going on current polls, so there's not a full chance that this will happen obviously. Florida - Romney is above the President in many of the most recent polls, by five and six percent in most of the newest ones. I'd give it to Romney. Ohio - Obama has an easily comfortable lead, with all polls (except one tie) giving him a good lead of 3-6 points. Giving it to Obama. North Carolina - Looks like this one's leaning more towards the Romney camp, actually. Virginia - Quite the toss-up at the moment, but it looks like it's going to go for Obama. Wisconsin - This one looks like it's going to be clearly Obama. And with that, Obama would win the election. HOWEVER, Virginia is a toss-up and it might go Romney. If it does, Obama would need to win Colorado to get the election. Colorado - Unfortunately, this one seems to be too close to call. Obama is projected to win by only 0.66% of the vote on average. If he wins, he gets the election. This one would also be a toss-up. If he doesn't get Colorado, then what? If Romney gets Colorado, Obama will need to win Iowa. Iowa - Obama's up by 2% on most polls. Romney has seen a drop in support... therefore I would go for Obama. Beyond Iowa (if Romney somehow manages to net most of the previously mentioned states), Nevada would be up next, which Obama has a comfortable lead in as well. So overall, I would say that Obama is poised to win the election. Regardless, make sure that you all VOTE!
BREAKING NEWS, according to the polls, nobody will care who's in the lead in the polls on november 7th
No. The closer and closer we get to an election, the more and more riled the partisan media gets about the voting process in various states.
Oh, please, Husted's barely even tried to hide his attempts to suppress the vote in Ohio.
I hope the voter suppression does not swing the election
Obama's got a good enough lead that it probably won't swing the election. I hope the DOJ goes after that shithead Husted after the election though, and I also hope that Obama carries enough swing states that Ohio becomes irrelevant.
Getting really excited now after watching some of the 2008 BBC coverage. Not only am I going into school overnight to watch it, but I've managed to get Wednesday off so I can sleep all day. Hyped for this moment
