I could be wrong. I was under the impression from what I saw during the 2011 Tsunami that generally the Tsunami wave isn't really perceivable on the water until it hits land. You know, aside from the shore receding that is.
And from what I'm reading about that Tsunami is it traveled up land to that height. Not that the wave was actually that high, like in the Perfect Storm or something. It always seemed to me that tsunami's are so bad not because of how big the 'wave' is but generally just the volume, pressure and speed of the wall of water traveling inland.
Oh damn it was only approximately 100 feet, still there's bound to have been skyscraper sized ones in meteor impacts and stuff.
Well that movie ended on a very optimistic note considering that probably 3/4ths the population of San Francisco and Los Angeles are either dead or slowly dying in horrific ways and unlikely to be rescued. The entire city is fucked. Like, demolished on the scale of a nuclear strike.
One family survived it. Great. Like thousands and thousands of other families are dead or split apart forever. Fuck you The Rock you selfish prick. You're a rescue pilot maybe now that your family is safe you should offer to help now?
Recovery and rebuilding the state of California would literally take several decades. Hell they'll probably still be pulling up mangled corpses five years later from all the parking garages, subway tunnels and collapsed skyscrapers.

The ending of The Mist had some good feels.

I loved the ending of The Mist. Not because it was a feel-good ending or anything but it was original and dark. We need more endings like that.
My friend started hysterically laughing at the ending of The Mist. For some reason he thought it was hilarious he killed his child, two senior citizens and an innocent woman in a mercy killing only to be rescued five minutes afterwards by the Army. He was crying and couldn't breathe he was laughing so hard.

Tbh, the timing and execution of the ending was really awkward. It was just kind of a "really?" moment.
I write you everyday
But I throw it all away
I've got so much left to say
But there's nothing left to save
I'm not trying to be weak
But I cry myself to sleep
Every night
I'm freaking out [x3]
Yeah, I'm freaking out
Nothing kills the pain
But the bullet to my brain
Yeah, and that just brings back fear
Yeah, and I just can't escape
In my mind, in my dreams
There's nothing here that seems
That it was meant for me
To ever be happy
We postin' lyrics?
[Chorus:]
Crawling in my skin
These wounds they will not heal
Fear is how I fall
Confusing what is real
There's something inside me that pulls beneath the surface
Consuming, confusing
This lack of self-control I fear is never ending
Controlling. I can't seem...
[Bridge:]
To find myself again
My walls are closing in
(without a sense of confidence and I'm convinced that there's just too much pressure to take)
I've felt this way before
So insecure
[Chorus]
Discomfort endlessly has pulled itself upon me
Distracting, reacting
Against my will I stand beside my own reflection
It's haunting how I can't seem...
[Bridge]
[Chorus]
[Chorus]
There's something inside me that pulls beneath the surface consuming,
Confusing what is real.
This lack of self-control I fear is never ending controlling,
Confusing what is real.
