I paid them the day I messaged them, and they said it would take about 4-5 days to complete. I told them I wasn't in any hurry, but that was already 6 days ago. I didn't message them until today asking how it was coming along.

They may have put your thing back a little for someone that requested a more urgent commission. Has the artist posted anything or done anything else in the week since you commissioned them?

Their last post on tumblr was on the 1st, and I originally messaged them on the 7th which is when I sent the money. But they don't post very often either.
