Well, just read the chapters so far for the Aki-Sora manga. Holy shit. Incest, lesbian, impotence, drama and sex. It was a very weird read, and it did get pretty serious at two points, (which were the best parts in my opinion) Twas a weird read.

I was just thinking that.
I liked the series. It was generic and some of the characters/plots were really annoying, simply bad, or both, but it was enjoyable to watch as a whole and that's all I really cared about.

I think the consensus is that the first season was decent and the next two were shit. Which is why I won't watch it any time in the near or distant future.
