Year 10 results: Physics exam 1/3: A* Biology exam 1/3: B Geography GCSE: C IT GCSE 1/2: A* Overall I am amazed at these. Still got a lot more to go though...
I'm still waiting on mine, my school are fucking up. [editline]23rd August 2012[/editline]
I'm sorry, but GCSE's are really easy. I didn't do a single bit of revision and walked out with 4A*'s... and I don't consider myself particularly intelligent.
Failing a GCSE (unless you really don't give a fuck about the topic) is actually pretty hard.
I'm sorry, but GCSE's are really easy. I didn't do a single bit of revision when I was doing them and I walked out with 4A*'s... and I don't consider myself particularly intelligent. The no revision thing doesn't work well with a levels, though.
I had 60% attendance, and when I was actually in school I spent most of the time sleeping. I don't know why, last year has been odd for me. Gonna shape up for college though of course.
Are the unit 1 science tests for year 10's still multiple choice (AQA)? I feel sorry for you guys if not, because they were the easiest things ever
We're doing Edexcel. They took out all the multiple choice and replaced them with 6 - 8 mark paragraph questions...
I'm doing applied science ( I didn't even opt for it.) and I've probably failed because I forgot to hand in my coursework folder at the end of last term :v:
Hell yeah, just got into one of the top 10 colleges in the country on mainly D's. Sure, I had to talk to the principal, go through all of my old records, and it took about 3 hours but I got in for the courses that I wanted. I'm incredibly happy because I've put in minimal effort for the last few years and somehow it's managed to work.

Oh god, only two or three years and I'll be doing GCSE's, (I'm in Year 9)
Oh god, only two or three years and I'll be doing GCSE's, (I'm in Year 9)
Make sure you work hard BEFORE the exams really kick in. I had to really push myself to get my grades up because I had slacked off pretty much all of Y10 and most of Y11. Just make sure you don't panic and you revise what you need to know and you'll come out on top ;)
Oh god, only two or three years and I'll be doing GCSE's, (I'm in Year 9)
If you're in Y9 wouldn't you be starting next year? Or do you have to do KS3? My backwards school forced us to do KS3, so I'm doing my 2nd year of GCSE's in Year 12
Sociology: B Critical Thinking: B Psychology: C BTEC Media Production: Distinction Off to universtiy to do Criminology + Psychology :eng101:
Just got my results back today, got about seven Cs, a B, and a fuckload of Fs and Us. Apparently getting a C in each of my triple science exams wasn't enough to get me into college, completely contrary to what I was told, so now I'm totally fucked. I think I would have done better if it wasn't for me being kicked out for most of Year 11 due to going totally fucking batshit at my useless fuck of an I.T teacher, and then being admitted to hospital halfway through my science coursework(s). I also blame the fact that I basically just gave up a little ways into the courses, it really hasn't been a good few years for me.

I did the entire coursework for ICT in the last 2 weeks because I had slacked off for 2 years. Ended up missing loads of details which could've been easy marks.

I then found out the deadline was 6 weeks away, so I worked the hardest I think I ever have. At one point I was doing 2 hours after school each day to get finished. It did mean I ended up making a STALKER themed version of Battleships. I have a picture somewhere... Got me an A* atleast :v:
Oh god, only two or three years and I'll be doing GCSE's, (I'm in Year 9)
Rule of thumb in schools: The thing you did last year was useless, it's what you're doing this year that counts. And this applies for all years.
Anyone applied for York?
I remember for my GCSEs I got 5A*s but I didn't make into the big list on the school newsletter with the 4-11 A* range because I got one D. What a joke. I know that sounds like a brag but there were alot of the people with high A* counts so I wasn't really amazing for my school.
Year 11 GCSE Results: Physics: A* Chemistry: A* Biology: A (this might be bumped up since my ISA was apparently incorrectly marked). Maths (Taken in year 9/10): A* Religious Studies: A* History: A* English Lit: A* English Lang: A* Spanish: B Quite pleased that in many of these subjects I only dropped a few marks, such as for Chemistry I got 395/400, those five marks being lost on the first exam I took(got full % on the rest). Additional Subjects: Additional Maths: A AS Computing: C (or B, there's apparently a clerical error) AS Critical Thinking (Year 10): B To get into the sixth forum I wanted(Tiffins) the only exam that mattered was Additional Maths, if I got an A, I got in, if not then I would be screwed. So relieved I didn't fuck that exam I want. Hope everyone else got places where they wanted.
AS Levels: A Business Studies - 100% on the second exam D Physics D ICT E Biology :( Pretty massive gap between results
Haven't finished all my courses but got some decent results. History paper 1 (Crime and Punishment) b History paper 2 (Wild west) A* Biology (B4 B5 B6) c Chemistry (C4 C5 C6) A Physics (P4 P5 P6) A R.E paper 2 (school is a CofE school :/) c Not gonna lie, playing red dead redemption actually helped me understand the wild west a lot more than before I had played it. Just got history course work on the Vietnam war and some science controlled assessments and everything should be fine.
Results weren't too bad. A*: Core Science, Additional Science A: English, Maths, French Distinction (=2A): IT Cert, DIDA B: Statistics, Literature. Pass in Music Tech too, highest possible.
nice1
Anyone applied for York?
I did! But I'm not going there :v: What did you apply to study?
Year 10 Results: Science Unit 1: A* Maths Unit 1: A* Citizenship (coursework): A* Science Controlled Assessment: A English Literature Unit 1: A History Germany 1919-1991: B Citizenship Exam: A Science Unit 2: A* I'm quite proud of my results. Also, it says that for Preparation for Working Life, I got a 2. What the heck does that mean?
HANG ON A MINUTE. Anyone doing AS level Physics, what was your mark on the Electrons, Waves and Photons paper? I got 71/100, and that was marked down as an E for some reason....

I think I got 115 on that one, but a friend of mine also thought it was out of 100 and was very pleased with his mark of 100 :v

UMS is marked out of 150 on Electrons, Waves and Photons so you got 71/150 UMS which is about 47/100 marks on the exam. Also the grade boundaries for an E was 60-74 UMS and for a D was about 75-89 UMS. http://pdf.ocr.org.uk/download/admin/ocr_69851_admin_unit_grd_bound_june_12.pdf? for the grade boundaries.
A bit late for this thread as I got my results 3 weeks ago. Got 5 A's at Scottish Highers (Physics, History, Maths, English, Computing) and was the school dux, taking 4 Advanced Highers (Physics, History, Maths, Computing) this year. Think I'm set for any Uni in Scotland.
I only got my results a day or 2 ago, I did some of my gcse's 2 years early, going into year 10 in a few days english: D english lit: D religion & life issues: B religion & humanities: C Edit: I did terribly in english, and I'm ashamed of my self

I do not envy you guys.
