I made a duct tape disc wheel for my mountain bike. Nearly blew myself over in heavy cross winds.

Why didn't you just hide it all in some kids ear?
Why didn't you just hide it all in some kids ear?
Well once i showed a kid a trick where I pretend to swallow a coin. The next day when walking past the house(they live near me) the kids mom comes out and says "my son swallowed a quarter because of you"
Does that count?
I made a steamroller(large pipe) out of a loaf of bread once.
You should make another one and post pictures
I remember once I tried to make a ghetto fleshlight out of a waterbottle that i cut out at the top, i was filling it with stuff like tissues and then I was going to place this really soft and smooth cloth inside for fapping. Cept the tissues didnt hold the cloth in place so it didn't work.
I remember the first week of college. My suitemates tried to make a bong out of some empty Monster drink cans they had lying around. They even bought stuff from the hardware store. I don't believe they ever got it working.

I dont have enough money for weights so I get heavy things and put it into a backpack to lift/do pushups in. It works pretty well.
Oh and I use tape to keep my headphones onto my head.

Submachine gun reciever and barrel, only power tools were a drill, dremel, and grinder.
I've seen a document called "24 hour AK-47", that makes a pistol using a few AK-47 parts and some basic home tools and scrap metal, but it seems pretty dangerous. Is what you're doing safe?
Speaking of safe, back in primary school I whipped this up over a weekend; a single shot air rifle that shot marbles or AA batteries, only managed to get it to around 20 psi at most but it shot a fair way. Penetrated plywood at 10 metres.

Yup. The AK, although pretty dodgy looking, is actually fairly safe.
My CPU is held on with zip ties after breaking one of the clamps...
My monitor stand is made of cardboard (I'm picking up some wood tomorrow) and duct tape.

you forgot music stands and mechanical pencils
woah! could you post a tutorial on that? i'd love to try my hand on making something like that! but i don't have the slightest on it myself.
I haven't got the skills or parts to do it again for a video but if someone could direct me to the correct section, I could do a thread on them?

I could probably put a tut up at some point, I'll have a word with Dan about his thread idea. Until then, check out these sites:
http://wiki.4hv.org/index.php/Coilgun
http://www.coilgun.ru/
The second one basically has a buttload of links to various coilguns people have made with a few basic stats and stuff.
Probably the hardest part is getting the power supply hooked up; you basically need to get at least a couple of hundred volts from a battery pack or similar, there are various ways to do it, but lets not go too in depth here, I'll get and do that thread with Dan at some point ^^

thanks dude, i'll definatly make one and post it here! i've looked around some and basically i have to have a coil, and put a quick massive pulse of energy trough it, by charging up a condensator right? i'm mostly wondering how i'm gonna get the coil to turn of at exactly the right moment, especially if i decide to make a multi stage one.
make sure to let me know if you decide to write a tutorial!
I made this just now :v:

Sorry about the shitty image quality.
Had to stick a few parts of my shitty old bicycle together with tie-wraps. The places were just rusty as fuck.
That taught me to never buy a bicycle in Belgium again.

delicious but not ghetto
This thread has really made me want to make something ghetto, but I'm stumped on what I could make.

I can explain how it works, but really I just stuck it all together with spare plumbing parts and plumbing tape (I think its teflon tape?) to stop leaks.
I also just realised I did the diagram wrong, one of the valves is in the wrong spot.

It works by first closing the barrel valve, which is the trigger, an opening the bicycle pump valve. Pressurise the tank, then close off the pump-valve.
The barrel can be whatever diameter you like, I chose 0.5" because marbles work well. Use some wet wadding so that the air doesn't just blow around the projectile. Twist the barrel valve as quickly as you can when you want to fire.
This would work better with a solenoid instead of a manually operated valve, but back then I didn't know how to rig one up.
