Cut off the fingertips?
While it may seem like a good idea it may as well ruin the costume because it's made form lycra, but no idea. I was also looking over at Amazon for monk costume which would be perfect to make some Ghost B.C covers, I'll get to it eventually.

I always said "Keep your fingers out of there or it will rip your fingertips off, the good news though is that you will become a famous guitar player."

I don't think there is any other guitar player that inspires me as much as him.
just a shame that everything after sabotage almost undoes the greatness that is black sabbath
just a shame that everything after sabotage almost undoes the greatness that is black sabbath
nah heaven and hell is great
one song that's ok out of more than 30 years of garbage they shoulda quit when ozzy left the first time
one song that's ok out of more than 30 years of garbage they shoulda quit when ozzy left the first time
i'm talking about the entire album i think black sabbath was great with dio
yeah I know that's why I specified that only the song was ok [editline]5th January 2014[/editline] dio is a completely separate can of worms that I won't open now but even on sabotage sabbath started to stray a little too far away from their best traits for me

I'm sitting and learning Master of Puppets after playing up and down strokes all the time and being so used to it, this whole concept just goes out of the window with Metallica, these songs are not written in mind with it at all.
After the opening powerchord riffage stuff, alternate picking works really well.
Master of Puppets is probably one of those songs that no matter how much people tell me alternate picking is fine on, I never seem to be able to do it. It just gets me confused and muffles the sound. Alternatively, I like the feeling of my arm falling off when I play the first half of the song to speed doing strictly downstrokes.
Trying out mastering. I have no idea what I'm doing
Trying out mastering. I have no idea what I'm doing
Sounds pretty good to me. I'd say bring the bass up a little bit and tone the mids back a pinch, but that's coming from someone who hates wah and almost never uses it... so... take that with a pinch of salt, I suppose.
Does anyone know where I can find good drilling templates for converting from a Strat trem to a Floyd Rose? I don't want to go full-floating, just mount it against the body for down-only and shim the neck up if necessary. I just can't find anything that can print to scale to show exactly where to drill the two pivot holes. From there I can handle everything else.
Hello guitar thread, I picked up my first guitar which is an acoustic like a week or so ago. I'm loving it so much, but I need to know if I'm going about learning it correctly. I've played sax for a few years now so I already know music theory and shit. So far I've been focused on going up and down scales to learn where all the notes are, learning open chords and practicing going from chord to chord, and developing good strumming technique (with my fingers, not too fond of the pick yet). Just yesterday I learned some basic finger picking patterns and began to play arpeggios, they sound so beautiful and make me love this thing even more :) I've only learned one song though, Horse With No Name. I wanted to get to know the instrument first before diving into learning songs because just reading tabs doesn't seem too productive.
That's a great start, man. A very, very good start.
yupyup, knowing music is like half the battle with guitar so it's a good thing you've already got that. CCR & Tom Petty songs are what got me started, really helped with chord switching. And try to learn Blackbird by the Beatles because it's just too damn fun to play.

[editline]6th January 2014[/editline]
anyone that says alternate picking metallica riffs is ok is an idiot
I think any song written primarily by James, the old ones however, those written by Dave seem to be fine when doing alternate picking.
yeah true forgot about that james' right hand is a beast though
I may need to swap valve tube in my ht dual pedal because the stock one is really weak overall, it uses 12AX7/ECC83 so any recommendation would be nice.
So I just got a new guitar, can anyone tell me anything about it? [t]https://www.dropbox.com/s/hyphrcqxodhnsjv/Photo%2012-25-2013%2C%208%2043%2056%20PM.jpg[/t]
it's an Epiphone!
