starting to like this amp!
also bad playing woo!
I'm a bit behind, what amp do you have again? Also, what is everyone's way of recording typically? I run a 1/4" to 1/8" adapter, but my amp doesn't like that connection and fails to record the sound through either of the dirty channels, just the clean tone.

Straight to soundcard works terribly. I would get a cheap USB or Firewire interface that has multiple inputs for mics and line/instrument and mic up or plug in, yeah.
True. How expensive are they, typically?
You can get a line 6 one for like 60-150 usually; I'm gonna invest in a better one with more I/O and a higher A/DA conversion quality and such cos I'm a picky bitch.
Thinking about tuning my soon to come 9 string to
BEADADGAD
Imagine the range and the added open melodies from the dadgad tuning in there! :v:
Another funny thing would be because it sounds like a baby tries to talk:
ADADADAAD

Line 6 - Spider IV-30.
I run my amp through a mixer board which I handily borrow from my mom :v
one of my two cables broke; can't use my effect processor and can't afford a new cable for a while. i'm so fucking mad at myself right now
multi effect pedal vs individual effect pedals
go
multi effect pedals are often cheaper and don't sound that good usually even though I have experience only with a 40 eur one
boom
I've been learning to play Wonderwall on guitar. I have no capo so my first finger ends up barring the second fret and the other fingers are doubling up like mad on other frets. Every time my hand thinks there's no more pain to be found something new comes along.
multi effect pedal vs individual effect pedals

I like having individual pedals because it's more flexible. I've played with an expensive multi effect pedal before, it sounded nice but it's not for me.
Individual effects pedal for the win multi effects can be nice but you get a better sound with individual pedals and more flexibility
what about floor processors like the boss gt range? my dad has a few of them, probably for good reason.
Cheaper multi-effect pedals are nice for beginners/intermediate players still trying to find what their best sound is as a way of mixing all the various different effects and seeing what works best for how that person plays and then stepping up to individual pedals. My. $0.02 worth.

A friend of mine uses the Boss ME50. It sounds nice until you want more than a classic rock crunch tone, then goes straight into the shitter as you add gain
can't speak for the GT series, i'd go try one out
I think he has two GT-3s and there's a GT-5 where his stuff is.
I broke the E string on my bass, anyone recommend any good strings?
Rotosound?
They seen to be pretty good.
Hey, has anyone here had any experience with the PRS SE 245? Thinking of getting one next and replacing the pickups with Bare Knuckles or DiMarzios (maybe even the PRS \m/ ones if they are any good)
Also, apparently Eric Friedman is over at FL to write for Tremonti's second solo album (can't wait!)
Does anyone know any bands with a similar sound to Tremonti's solo project btw? Other than AB of course.
Does anybody here know of a good tension calculator that is able to calculate the 0 octave aswell? (bass octave dropped to B0)

I've got an SE Singlecut and it's an excellent guitar for the price. The bridge pickup is already pretty hot stock and the neck isn't half bad either. It has that bright signature PRS sound to it.
Any you slags got the Axe Fx yet?

I usually listen to more music or start off with songs I can jam to and go from there.

When I was in high school and was feeling it I signed up for band, which changed a lot of my technique for the better and just made me a better drummer overall. I've recently been feeling recently so what I've done is picked up guitar. The key I believe is to find a way to inspire yourself. Sometimes its listening to music, sometimes you have to change the way you approach your instrument by learning to play another.
