I use 15-090 (custom made set) on my 27.7 scale and E is insanely tight so I think you should go with an 80 as tightest string and maybe an 13 as smallest one. Everything inbetween is preference but I always calculate my string gauges with some online calculator to have tension fall off (biggest string = highest tension or identical tension to next string and then fall off tension wise)

Oh crap .095 for an E? That's tight as balls man, I would definitly drop some and try to aim at 20 pounds or less for the highest 3 strings or else it's going to hurt playing and bending them. 090 thickest, 015 smallest and 27.7 scale :smile: also that set looks tight and balanced now. You can always calculate your current stringset on your normal guitar and try to get the same or less tension in the calculator with the baritone guitar. You get a feel of what is what that way!
I would totally have an octave doubled 7, but woah. If I ever had a 14 stringer, it's gonna be multi scale, from like 34-22 for all the damn strings. tune it low as a fart and high as a motherfucking bee.
I imagine that one could never reach the lowest fret with his fretting hand unless you are somehow tapping or something.

If I ever could go crazy on some 9 string build then I would chose to have the 7 lowest string normal 9 string alike and the 2 highest strings should be microtonal (48 frets) that would create some crazy ass shit :v:

It's as hard as moving your hand up and down though. It's worth learning, cos it helps with a lot of things. Finding chord shapes, improv, really, anything.
I've just never really cared for learning how to do it. I'd rather do legato runs and low-note gallops and find them easier to do.

My teacher showed me sweeping within the first 2 months of lessons (just basic 3 string ones though).
Bear in mind I had been doing rhythm chord stuff for around 4 years so I wasn't a complete beginner.
I still can't really sweep very well...

My teacher gave me some 3 string sweeps, then five string 7th and minor 7th chord sweeps, then the six strings for triads. Then he gives me Paganini's 24th Caprice.
