I went out shopping today to buy rocksmith, I can't believe I went to 3 eb games and over 10 other electronics stores and not a single one had it on any platform.
[editline]3rd February 2014[/editline]
and in fact none of the stores I went to even have it on PC in their catalogue, the only way to get it is online in Australia.

Was gonna suggest Mediamarkt then I saw you lived in Australia.
Sucks that you couldn't find it in the stores, but buying it online is well worth it!

The only problem with buying it online is that it cost $130 online, whereas the Xbox copy would cost $90 from EBgames, which is odd since games are usually cheaper online here. The only reasonable priced one is out of stock and has been for a month.
That sucks man. Can't you find a cable separately and buy the game on Steam?

Found this, might help you out a little.
[QUOTE=cpt.armadillo;43763745]Do tell how it is when it arrives. I just rant through the custom builder thing and I found I could make a 7-string black beauty. I'm fucking interested.[/QUOTE]
I gravitate towards builders, the amount of time I have spent on warmoth...
I've already spent like $20,000 at warmoth in my mind

I still giggle when I see it just says "body builder" on their site menu

mmm

I wish that they would put that preview into the bass section of the builder as well. It sucks that it's not there right now.

it's like one of those flash-based dress up games from 10 years ago but it also makes me want to spend all of my money on guitar parts
help

i wish i could get the cream binding inside the f holes as well
that would really seal the deal
How do you get to the graphic representation? I made one and it didn't show me a graphic representation.
Ok I am going to drop the slap bass distortion, tons of melodies and depth album in 1-2 weeks. Can't wait anymore to release! Also recently got a cool friend from sophies earthquake to guitar solo over one section of a song. So now I can say this album includes tons of bass solos and even a guitar solo :v: just how it should be! Love for the basses!
I think my new favorite amp is the Fender Super Sonic, I went and tried one at GC today finally. Got them to put one in the iso room so I could crank it. I still prefer a Marshall for humbucker guitars but when it comes to a strat with single coils the super sonic just rips.

So artsy... I kind of miss my dslr now. These webcam photos will not do.
I have this small annoyance where my bass' pickups make this weird noise when there's any impact to the body or themselves.
Say I'm going to slap a string and I hit the pickup instead it makes this noise as if it there were a freaking microphone under the pickup or something, really annoying.
What could be happening?

Shit's microphonic, yo. Either replace the pickup or try potting it or something.
Question for all you bass players out there.
How important are fine motor skills when playing it? I have issues with mine (as evidenced by a handwriting that will make future historians think it was the 21st century equivalent of hieroglyphics) and I'd rather know how bad it might get beforehand.
It would be great if you train your arm muscles by lifting some weights, it helps a ton with playing guitar and bass, I always do wrist exercises, curls, barbel rows. Strong forearm and wrist will get you anywhere, when I play and feel like I can't do certain arm movements I try to do it slowly and pick up the speed, practice that for some time until it feels comfortable and the burn is gone, remember you want your hands to work perfectly in tune with each other, weights are good because if you practice just with the guitar it's a longer process, also doing set lists helps. I mean by this example look at Chris Broderick, his arms are fairly muscular so do his hands which I'm guessing it must be some good gripping exercises.

Depends how fine "fine motor skills" are. For a fretted bass, I don't think it would matter as much as compared to fretless where precision is a huge part of the technique. Muscle memory plays a large part in playing an instrument since you get used to the different positions over time. When I first started playing music, I chose bass and I guess having good coordination would be a big help in the initial learning. But that's not to say that it'd be impossible to learn with less coordination, but it might take a little extra time.
Holy fuck the sevenstring forums got kurt (owner of rondomusic, which is a great 7-10 string guitars dealer in the us) to consider making 8 string western guitars, the guys now choose a basic shape and woods and send it to kurt so he can send it to the company that produces the agile guitars! And it's pretty much set in stone now!
my amp stopped working for no reason
what even the fuck
[editline]6th February 2014[/editline]
"alright watching the 2004 crossroads concert, oh boy I want to jam along or play to a backing track or something, let's plug the amp in"
nada, zip.
The experssion pedal with the channel switcher works, and if i press the channel buttons on the amp it works, indicator changes, but absolutely no sound, and no lights on the amp shine.
The only thing in life that never dissapointed me..

From the looks of the post I looked at quickly earlier today on the Chapman Guitars forum, I'm kind of glad I never put money down for a bass. It really isn't my thing at all. Bubinga body and neck, wenge board, 24 frets, a neck profile like one of Dave Hollingworth's basses (I'm going to assume Warwick-ish), and some CG bass humbuckers.
The price looks like it'll be £649. Far too much for me at the moment, and I really don't think the sound or the look would be for me either. I guess I just find more traditional basses and guitars more appealing.
Speaking of more classic looking stuff though, I was looking on the ESP website and I saw that on the US version, they have updated product pages and the LTD Vintage 214 now comes in non-distressed finishes and a sweet looking natural one.

The distressed ones look alright but I much prefer the regular finishes.

I think the Frank Bello sig looks pretty cool too but I don't think it'd be worth the extra money. Might as well just get a regular Vintage and save $600 or so and buy a set of EMGs and have change.

Yes because in the zombie apocalypse I want my guitar to double as a weapon, never know when you are rocking the apocalyptic village and some zombie breaches the defenses. You might have to stop playing and fuck some shit up.
who said anything about stopping playing
Let's be honest if a zombie breaches the defenses it is time for a bass solo bud because it's time to harpoon a zombie.

Bass solo mmmhhhmm... I release my bass album today.. you heard it here first :x
And here it is!
I tried to challenge myself to mostly only use my bass on this album. The bass even replaces the "normal" guitar slots left and right. At harsher parts I used distorted slap bass to give the whole album an unique sound. There's tons of loud and subtle melodies hidden everywhere to make it sound rich and to add depth. Don't forget to check out that cool solo by Janosch from Sophies Earthquake on Dysprosium!
Thank you and enjoy! Tell me what you think :)
