At the moment I have an Ibanez GRGR121EX. I got it a while ago to replace the squire strat I had mainly because I wanted a guitar with 24 frets. It's not bad but it was pretty cheap (about £180 if I remember right). I have some money at the moment and I am tempted to get a better guitar, but I'm just not really sure if it would be worth it. I've never used a more high end guitar so I don't really know if I'd actually notice much difference between what I have now and, say, a £500 guitar. My question is really: Is it worth upgrading from a £180 guitar to a £400+ guitar? Would I notice a real difference?
My strat stays in tune better with 11s and I wank the tremolo arm a lot, nice! :v:

I suggest getting a Chapman ML series from Andertons, considering UK

They have one US distributor now, I think it's called riff city or something like that.

Squier Classic Vibe and Vintage Modified, Fender Modern Player, Kramer stuff, among other things are superb quality for the money and the sound is pretty good too.

Amp/pedals influence how you sound more than most Any guitar
They all have an influence. It's said that fingers are the important ones, but I don't know.

Do phosphor acoustic strings sound better on the lower strings (audible, brighter) than normal brass ones?
Thanks for the recommendations. The Chapman ML-1 looks nice alright, but its actually about the same price I paid for this one, would it really be a lot better? It's only 22 frets though anyway, I'd really prefer one that has 24 frets.
This is how I look at 7AM after a dozen cups of coffee to have the energy to film this cover... I am laughing my ass off, I was only trying to pull of a subtle smile.
Instead you gave us your finest rapist smile. I consider that a good trade.
Had a lesson today, teacher had his Ibanez with 8s on it. jesus christ I play with 11s, I played so bad on it :v:
Sup. It's Telemaster time. Going to get me one of these. [T]http://i113.photobucket.com/albums/n235/k-line_2006/Telemaster002.jpg[/T] [T]http://danocaster.smugmug.com/Other/My-Guitars/i-s432MdF/0/O/Telemaster.jpg[/T]
I finally got around to buying a new set of strings for my guitar. First set of strings I've put on a guitar. Depending on how you look at it I either fucked up one string or 5 strings because the first tuner goes counter clockwise to tighten while the rest go clockwise.
you fucked up 5
you can't be stringing guitars all willy nilly, I used to break like 10 sets of strings a month because I didn't care because they were $3 a set. Now I take the utmost care when stringing my guitar.

When I put new strings on I try and make sure all the tuning post holes are kind of pointing open towards the fretboard and when I insert the string I insert it from the end of the headstock towards the fretboard and wrap it under the post. I can see how you made that mistake. My first stringing experiences were usually foiled by having too much slack in the string and ending up with 8 wraps around the post and the string overlapping itself. And I wondered why my guitar would never stay in tune. Now this is something I can shred off to.
Am I a rebel cos I don't use my string winder?
Am I a rebel cos I don't use my string winder?
No, just a guitar player with masochistic tendencies :v:
No, just a guitar player with masochistic tendencies :v:
Isn't that kind of like saying you're a rich millionaire?
They all have an influence. It's said that fingers are the important ones, but I don't know.
Agreed. My friend and I can play the exact same guitar, in the exact same tuning, on the same amp and settings, and sound completely different from each other based on how we strum and how we select the next notes on riffs.
Isn't that kind of like saying you're a rich millionaire?
I only had to ask my friend vocalist to pull my back once after rehearsing all day, it felt glorious.
Gonna get my seven string serviced. I'm sick of the strings going out of tune. Even the lower ones go out of tune.
