I'm going to buy a new guitar to "upgrade" myself. I already know which guitar to buy ( Fender Stratocaster) but I can't decide if I should get one with a humbucker or one with a single coil. I play mostly pop punk and punk rock and sometimes alternative rock. Should I get one with humbucker or not?
You really could go either way, if you get one with a humbucker and you want single coils then you can get a new pickguard for single coils and just replace the old one. And if you get a strat with single coils you can always put stacked humbuckers in it. I personally could go either way with that style of music.
Band practice was so fucking weird.
Drummer wasn't there
Guitarist #3 wasn't there
An amp broke
Another amp didn't work properly
Third amp somehow routed itself through the fire alarm
Neither me nor my bud could play for some reason,
went home :v:
woo.

thank god they were music school amps :v:
Can someone recommend some good foot pedals for the following effects. I was going to just buy a bunch of boss pedals but I don't want to spend so much money on them.
- Wah
- Phase
- Tremolo
- Delay
The TC Electronics Flashback is an excellent delay pedal, just the Toneprint function is worth the pricetag alone IMO.
Bought an amp, fiddled with my vocal mic and hey what do you know, I can record with some nice effects;

Some playing mistakes but it's a real simple thing and I did it just to try and see if it sounded terrible or not.
Not my pics:

(still haven't fucking fixed this damn thing :v:)

Brand is Encore, dunno if its readable.
Also I've been considering picking up a bass guitar for a long time, I dunno what I should really go for. Something below £200, I'm thinking either a P-bass, Thunderbird or maybe a Toby Deluxe-V since I like the shapes to each of them, and the Deluxe-V I can get in 5-string for not too much more.
The neck shape and stuff. A Wizard should be roughly 17mm thick at the first fret.
yeah I know what wizard means I just don't know what neck came with the 1660

It's a bit of a project. I'm redoing the wiring from scratch with one of these for the bridge pickup:

I'll need to do some fitting adjustments on the pickguard pickup holes. I also got a blank graphite nut that I'm going to file for it. Should be an adventure.

How? No, really, how on earth do you do that?
How? No, really, how on earth do you do that?
I have no idea.
But every note was followed by a sound from the fire/smoke alarm, either that or my friend did 50 perfect harmonics in a row with chords :v:

More developed version of my earlier melody, still not all of it, but I see it as todays warm-up.
Also, my 'tar that I use. Got another one but it sounds like shit so it's not even worth taking a picture of.

the camo binding looks a bit goofy but it plays and sounds great so i don't mind
I kinda might get a V-type EXP and fix the hell out of it or should I build my own or wait for a Vandy Custom to come on the market I have no idea, I just have major GAS for one.

Camo? I thought it was abalone. Lots of guitar companies use and I admit I love it.

I'm 110% sure it's camo.
[editline]9th March 2014[/editline]
maybe on second glace it is abalone. still, it looks a lot like camo
either way i'm not sure if I like it.
that looks like abalone yes
I always have ideas for guitars floating in my head and I can't build them because no money or tools raarggh. Newest idea- neck through SG with 5 piece mahogany/maple neck and ebony board, gnarly p90s and a Schaller 456 and locking nut.
A locking nut just seems like an unnecessary annoyance when there's no floyd/kahler. Good tuners, a good hardtail bridge, and a well cut nut and there would be no need.
