I picked one of those up the last time I was at GC, it was pretty nice. Not quite lightweight but still great. What tuning ya go in usually?
All of the songs on our first album (that we're recording now) are in Drop C. I'll probably only be moving around Drop C and D standard for this band, there's just something about Drop C for stoner rock that's so appealing. Is the firebird, say, heavier than a tele? I feel like my tele weighs a literal fuckton

This one actually has full humbuckers which is what turned me onto it. If the insurance company doesn't want to take my SG I might even change the PUPs out (if they're not the exact same ones that is). It only has two humbuckers and no "wings". The two things I'm thinking about are: 1) Special cases/Gig Bags for it 2) How is the balance?
I didn't strap it on or play it besides resting on my thigh cos I was bored in line, but it was pretty easy to balance then, so it shouldn't be too bad at all, prolly not gonna have much more neck dive than the SG. What do you mean by "wings"?
Some firebirds actually have wings The middle of the body is a bit thicker and the "wings" are then glued to the side. I think some of them are even cut from just one piece. As you can see here Some people thinks it affects tone, then again it could just be me being picky by looking for small details.
The original Firebird design was neck-through, so I think they used a thinner stock of wood for the wings then, which would make sense. I think if it's that much wood missing, then it might affect tone. I dunno how the Epi's are made, so I dunno. They might just make it flush or do a longer set neck joint or something.
I bought the Ovation CC-44 I was looking at on Craigslist. First acoustic guitar! Somewhere, my girlfriend's panties just dropped to the floor for no reason... God knows the hard rock and metal shit didn't work.
Harmonies are fun! I should move onto another song to obsessively practice :v: this probably marks 8 months.
wow I've been playing for 2 years and I can play blink 182
Got new strings on the way (by Dad-mobile, huehue); D'addario Jazz Medium 0.56 gauge. Time to be able to play as low as I wanna without having slinky strings. Mmm sounds sooo much better now!
Is the yamaha amp a good purchase for about 200-300$ if i want to be a bit more versatile?
Anyone have any opinions on the Marshall MGX102CFX? I mainly play Hard Rock and Metal as well as some clean stuff, but I play stuff from The Beatles to System of a Down. Listening to the tone of it the Marshall website it sounds pretty good to me (worlds better than my crappy stompbox amp simulators on my crappy no-brand amp with no overdrive whatsoever) Would it compliment my LTD MH1000 (and soon a PRS SE 245) well?
Been playing guitar for a year now but decided to buy a bass too. It's just some cheap Yamaha but it gets the job done. oh and yes that is infact mario kart bedding.

My Crate GT212 with an OD in front is pretty good considering the amp and pedal were $130 total
that is some sexy ass bedding
Listening to the tone of it the Marshall website it sounds pretty good to me
I can not stress this enough. Almost everything can sound good through your computer's speakers. The only way to know if the amp your looking at is the one you want to buy is to go down and try it. Bring you guitar and cable and play for it. Never buy an amp before trying it.

A Line 6 Spider IV-30 is way better than a Peavey 15w 70 eur thingy. the distortion is so not my type of distortion at all though :v: BUT NO THE PROCESSOR BROKE FOR SOME REASON. If it costs a lot to repair I'm going to go to a music store in Tartu and get a new one, and actually try a lot this time :v:
I'm considering getting a set of OX4 pickups for my Les Paul; does anyone here have any experience of them?
I don't think so. Probably would be good, I don't know. They look to be handmade vintage PAF clones and aged.

I busted my ass learning a new song so I could play it for my girlfriend when she came over and...yeah, that shit works. Selling all my Schecters and amps now.
So I tried using the stereo outputs on my Flashback and connect one of the out puts to my little Roland Cube and the other to my bass amp, scooping the mids in my bass amp and adding some serious drive on the Cube. This tone. Holy shit.
bass amps sound better for clean guitars than clean guitar amps, period.
What about the Fender Bassman, which sounds shitty with a bass (at least this one does)?
bass amps sound better for clean guitars than clean guitar amps, period.
that's why every fender amp is so good [editline]16th March 2014[/editline] especially the bassman [editline]16th March 2014[/editline] also just wanna make sure everyone knows how rad phil x is
Phil X is 48 years old. how.
holy shit I broke my first string! why am I happy :v: I suppose it's the first actual string I've broken, the first one I broke was literally black from age and was also on this guitar and that was back in August when I got it. It's an 11 too, god dangit el cheapo de guitarro. Broke half a cm from the tuner. BACK TO THE STRAT.

I remember the first 6-10 times I've broken a string it was the fourth string during the palm muted choruses of "A Praise Chorus" by Jimmy Eat World. Every god damn time I play that song. [editline]18th March 2014[/editline] Just broke the sixth string during the palm muted verses in All the Small Things.
I've never actually broken a string while playing it's always been when I'm tuning I have however broken a pick while playing this
what were you playing when you broke it ive always remembered what i played when i broke my first
A Gary Moore lick :v:
