this is an acceptable circumstance to break a string
breaking strings while tuning is scary I can always feel it's about to happen. [editline]19th March 2014[/editline] anyone got any cheesy jokes I can used in between songs?
tell em about how you broke your g-string fingering Layla
Speaking of broken strings, I have been hearing good things about the new d'addario NYXL strings. http://www.musiciansfriend.com/accessories/daddario-nyxl-light-electric-guitar-strings Oh shit gentlemen. I still haven't opened up my beta pack. But I am glad they went with a new package although I think the beta package they sent me looked better. he's cooler than us ;-; He probably signed up for it or something, I dunno.
For a little while you could sign up for them, I am not sure how many they sent out but it just showed up in the mail one day. [editline]19th March 2014[/editline] I mean... I know some people and a man with a briefcase sat down next to me at an undisclosed location and handed me an envelope. [editline]19th March 2014[/editline] Oh hell yes. Sounds kind of like the Pinkerton era.
welp
Oh hell yes. Sounds kind of like the Pinkerton era.
fuck yeah I was really into Weezer right now, especially Pinkerton.
My father gave me the Blue album on cassette in '95 when I was only 4 years old. Ever since then I was hooked. The reason I have the pickup combination that I do in my ibanez is because Rivers had the same in his sonic blue strat. I even went with the same color combo.
Hey, I made a poll/google form thing for this thread to see what everyone's favourite guitars and things were. If you have time and are bored, filling it out would take about 5 minutes. I'll compile the results into a spreadsheet in a month or so and get back with the results! Thanks: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1nMIAIlTBwoz5X6urUzkg7bU7ZJYk_YfygVoaKflcxiQ/viewform Revision: Apologies for my mistakes lol. I fixed up some things, generally made it a bit more diverse and easier to choose. A few more multiple choice, a few more guitarists to choose from (although I'm sure there are still lots that have gone over my head).
Remembered about this thing. Hopefully this link works to see some graphs and stuff: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1nMIAIlTBwoz5X6urUzkg7bU7ZJYk_YfygVoaKflcxiQ/viewanalytics
Holy shit E-flat tuning is awesome.
Holy shit E-flat tuning is awesome.
I pretty much play exclusively in E-flat. (half step down) It's just another Weezer thing for me, I love the growl my guitar gives out when it is tuned down a half step. There are a surprising number of songs that are recorded in half step down.

half step down always sounds weak to me and just kinda sucks all the tone out of every one of my guitars D standard and lower is rad though
Thinking about picking up an Orange Dark Terror. What would be a good cab to compliment it within the 200-300$ range? I'm probably going to be mostly practing and recording.
Holy shit E-flat tuning is awesome.
I only play E-flat or Dropped-D-Flat. Typically the latter is the main one, but yes it is.

At guitar center they usually run most of their heads in the iso room through a blackstar venue 4x12 and 2x12.
Standard D for me. What does suck is I find myself getting confused if I pick up an E standard one. Which is now why I will have one of my guitars tuned to E and the other in D.
Drop C for me.
Recently tuned down to B standard, love it.
15 semitones lower in drop C# bass octave for me.
My friend bought a telecaster baritone guitar in B tuning, it's pretty cool but I don't know what to do with it.
My friend bought a telecaster baritone guitar in B tuning, it's pretty cool but I don't know what to do with it.
play it
Drop C for me.
I used to be a big D standard man, but then I found myself playing in Drop C. All of my band's songs are in Drop C. There's something so natural about a C tone. That and it's perfect for stoner rock/metal [editline]21st March 2014[/editline]
My friend bought a telecaster baritone guitar in B tuning, it's pretty cool but I don't know what to do with it.
Tune it to Open B and play Devin Townsend songs
this is the happiest pedal I have [editline]21st March 2014[/editline] : )
The two pedals I use are a very dangerous combo. One screams bloody murder, and the other joined the chorus.
so, after a little over a year of owning it, my Les Paul's bridge pickup won't put out any sound. well, a little bit, but I have to crank up the volume and gain to the max and even then it's really quiet. I've checked the wiring and it all looks fine, so I guess the pickup is dead? If that's the case, what's a good website to get pickups from? musician's friend and guitar center both have really shitty websites that take five minutes to load each webpage and I'm not gonna deal with that.
