so, after a little over a year of owning it, my Les Paul's bridge pickup won't put out any sound. well, a little bit, but I have to crank up the volume and gain to the max and even then it's really quiet. I've checked the wiring and it all looks fine, so I guess the pickup is dead?
If that's the case, what's a good website to get pickups from? musician's friend and guitar center both have really shitty websites that take five minutes to load each webpage and I'm not gonna deal with that.
First figure out what kind of pickup you want and how well it will go with the current ones in the guitar before you think of doing that. Are you sure the pot isn't dirty or something?
If you're going BKP or DMZ or whatever, I'd go to http://axepalace.com/ cos the guy that runs it is really nice.
Hi

sexy, that's what
I was going to change strings today so I played some songs until a string broke. First song was carry on my wayward son.
My fears of snapping the first string while doing a bend on the 22nd fret have come true. The head of the string shot off out of my bridge and across the room, wasn't so bad.
Learning Classical Gas. This shit is no joke, hopefully gonna have it down in a month or less.

I can play a third of Windy and Warm! :v:
How's this for babby's first bass? I love how the firebird body normally feels and the colour scheme to me looks absolutely gorgeous, and I can assume it'll sound pretty good.
Should be good, I've borrowed one of those for a heavy rock gig and it feels fantastic and sounds great for that. Might not be the best jazz/funk bass, though.

Not one much for natural finishes but it looks ok.
Would probably look better with a transparent color finish (red, purple) with black sides.

The amount of strings amuses me :v:

This is our resident C#1 overlord we're talking about here
With that guitar I would go A#0... Also I am not doing chugging music so I don't know why anybody would doubt that I would use that amount of strings for good.
[editline]22nd March 2014[/editline]
Like I did on my baritone, went A#0 here and you don't often hear the low A#0, mostly on the chorus.

sorry that I need to defend myself here but I certainly think I can make use of such an instrument <3
[editline]22nd March 2014[/editline]
Ok nobody wants to hear the song, go to the 3:19 that's where I palm mute the A#0 and it sounds fucking amazing. Also 4:49 the low note there is a B#0 that I slowly slide up :v:
Not my type of music but that's actually really cool.
So I played my first gig last night, it was 9 songs at my friend's aunt's 50th birthday. We got really drunk before we started and I fucked up on every song but it was a lot of fun and I got a microphone to talk into and do back ups which made me happy.
Then we used our sound gear to set up karaoke and I ran that for the rest of the night.
Does anyone have any experience with the Peavey Bandit 112?
Shit, the skin between my fingernail and finger still hurts, can't play today yet.

fuck it i'll learn slide
It is my dream to one day own a gibson Firebird. They just look so fucking awesome compared to epiphone ones.
also why does guitar center's website take so fucking long to load
So I need to start up a shopping list - playing reggae-rock (punk/ska too) shit in the nature of Sublime, No Doubt and Pepper but I only know how to play guitars. In terms of actual equipment and shit, I'm pretty clueless. Any recommendations for certain amps or guitars that are suited to rock that I could play reggae-rock with?
Starting from yesterday, I've switched to using Tortex Triangles, and I don't plan on going back.

I wasn't implying you chug on the low string all day, more that you're the only one I know of here that drops your tuning so low
yum or not?

there are about 2 too many strings
[editline]23rd March 2014[/editline]
but i like the aesthetics!
I think it needs one more string, and some radical pickup stuff
There's a lot of opportunity to be had in a 9 string. I'm not sure if I'd use it for metal (I never drop my 7 lower than Drop G). I'd rather try to make use of it for Jazz.

It's my dream to be able to play like this.
