I'd say he's the Stephen Hawking of music. Or something close to it. I can't describe him at all. He has a lot of really good friends who also record parts he writes. And his dad rigged up an ingenious system for his eye movements.
This makes me think: How do people who want to play metal even start playing? It's so much twiddly stuff :v: Must be hard to start.
it's not that bad actually, been playing for 6 years now, started with green day then moved on to metallica, then ozzy, then black label society and now playing children of bodom so as long as you do it progressively it should be fine. My friend started playing children of bodom leads when he first started(very slowly tough) and when I met that guy and he seen I was playing rythm pretty good he improved a lot and now we both do CoB songs and do both parts so it's pretty fun. he's been playing for about 3 years now and where he can play arch enemy and arsis and shit like that (not full speed tough and I havent really tried to play those but maybe I could) I can play some more old school metal ozzy annihilator and stuff like that. we played a lot of times like 15 hours in a row was hella fun
Hello page 100.
easy black keys song to learn? I think I might try with Tighten Up, seems like good practice.
its been a long time since I was able to write more than just a riff. I wrote the guitar and bass for a song today. this is just a rough recording so I don't forget how it goes, the timing is off at parts and there's a few notes out of place, especially from the bridge onwards. I was listening to Rock Show by blink-182 and I thought up the main riff.
bad guitar day oh no
My prs is not at home and my pod neither, it's been a full day :( I never had it gone out of my room for more than a day.
the guy teaching me over Skype is really nice, he's doing it so he can become a better teacher. he told me to tell him if there is something I don't understand, and now I've already learned a lot of music theory. I know now most of the places the E note is, and I know some scales... or well... did. kinda forgot them already, but it's not too hard to hear. i think it was the Am and C scales. [editline]24th April 2014[/editline] or he is doing it because he wants to be a guitar teacher. he wants to be a good one.
i hella want to eat mexican food and play a short scale bass right now it is 6:30 in the morning

i made a guitar song [vid]http://good-mechs.info/sfx/gawler-2nd-take.ogg[/vid]
i love calm, relaxing, jazzy stuff like that.
i made a guitar song [vid]http://good-mechs.info/sfx/gawler-2nd-take.ogg[/vid]
Reminds me of arctic monkeys, specifically only one who knows (which I think is great!)
Reminds me of arctic monkeys, specifically only one who knows (which I think is great!)
Man, I haven't heard that tune in about six years. Thanks for reminding me it existed I am gonna go listen to it now.
it actually reminds me a lot of this
Check out my friend's band, they have one record out and going to make the 2nd one soon, they're called behind the revolver. My friend is the lead guitarist, with the ibanez. this show was in a bar for a contest, all amps and the drum were loaned by a local music store all they had to do is bring the cymbals and the bassdrum pedal cauz it's easier to have your own anyway. both my friend and the other guitarist own a mesa triple rectifier for their regular shows. the band who won the finals could win a recording session for a cd, and other stuff like that, unfortunatly they we're third that night but still they made it to the finals before losing so it's quite cool (even tho they were first in all the previous shows) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LZNFnjhChB8
I might be able to get a marshal cab and line 6 spider III head for $350AU. Both in good condition and working. Should I do this? I don't know anything about that head, and a marshall cab by itself for $350 is pretty good, isn't it? Let alone a bonus head. I'd mostly use them at home in my bedroom though. Would they be too loud? The only amp I have at the moment is a Fender Frontman and that's way too loud - I can only go on like 2 volume, so that's kind of annoying. Someone help me be more knowledgeable and guide me please. [editline]28th April 2014[/editline] (I mostly play my jazzmasters with my big muff, too. As far as what I'd be putting into it) Pic:
If the impedances match, I'd go for it. It's a cab, and a head that can simulate pretty much any kind of amp. It sounds like it would be great for you, and you probably won't turn the volume past 2 anyway. [editline]28th April 2014[/editline] The amp itself goes from 100-300 US$, so take that as what you will.
I can tell you now that the Line6 spider series is one of the worst possible investments you could make. Try to snatch up the cab alone and find a better head. Even then no one really needs a 4x12 cab unless you're playing a venue that has 400-500+ capacity. It'll just be a burden unless you really want the sound that a 4x12 has to offer. Edit: Forgot to add, the line6 does a bloody good job at being quiet, but it has no resale value. I have a SpiderIII combo 75-watt that's been laying in my room for 4 years. I practice either through my Fender Excelsior or through Amplitube because I just can't stand the sound of the bloody thing There that's my two-cents!
I'm happy with my Line 6 spider because the other amp I have is a 40 eur peavey shitbox :v: which somehow has a better distortion sound
Is it a bad idea to have a stack inside a house for playing?
Not really, you just gotta keep it down a bit. My dad had his hotrodded Marshall SuperBass in the garage, as well as a lot of Plush stack thingies. Those were loud as hell, still didn't cause any problems.
Is it a bad idea to have a stack inside a house for playing?
I use a 250 watt amp for my bass even though I rarely use it outside my bedroom. No such thing as a bad place for your amp (as long as it is indoor).

I wouldn't suggest getting one. I have a the 15w, and it's so muddy I can't even bear to use it as a practice amp.

Really don't listen to anyone saying that these amps sound like crap because I know you can get a good tone out of one for every genre and I know they are reliable. Don't even listen to me because really you are gonna have to try it out and decide if you like it or not. The only thing that I can guarantee is that it will be reliable and durable enough to play in your bedroom. And because it is solid state you don't have to crank it up to get it to sound good.
Thanks for all your help. I'm going up on the weekend to have a look at it. I'm looking for an upgrade from my amp, because my amp can't be played quietly, and if you can do that with this then I'm happy. As far as sound goes, from what everyones saying it's split between being okay and terrible, but I figure for the price it's not a bad buy. And I can always upgrade the head. Is there a difference in Marshall cabs I should be looking out for? He hasn't told me the model of this one so I'm assuming it's the crappiest marshall cab you can get because I can't tell what model it is from the pictures.

They are alright, nothing that you would use as a touring musician but it will do the job.
He said it's either a MG410 or MG412. What's the value of those? Is this deal worth $350 all up?
Well the cab sells new for around 200-250 and the line 6 head has sold on ebay in good condition for 150-190. It's not too bad but I would talk him down to about 300-325 if you can. And the cabinet is a 4x12 not 4x10. As far as I know marshall didn't make a 4x10 MG series cabinet.
4x10's are usually bass cabs, too. Dad walked in the door with a Rockron Hush IICX under his arm. YES.
